As a culture, we’re quick to blame dads. But harsh, often unfair, judgments don’t serve children and families. It’s always more complicated and nuanced than blame suggests!

Our fatherhood programs emphasize personal development (forgiveness, empowerment, and co-parenting skills) so that we can focus on what works: access, support, structure, and opportunity.

We tend to focus on the challenges fathers face. What would change if we gave equal value to what brings dads joy? 🤔

When a father comes to our Gentle Warriors Academy, one of the first questions we ask is, “What problem brings you here?” But that only gives us one kind of information.

Perhaps we should also ask dads what’s going right, what gives them joy, and what their child does that makes them smile. 👏 These questions won’t erase poverty, fix court orders, or eliminate conflict, but they do something just as necessary…

They remind a man that his life is larger than the struggle currently occupying it. 🤯

Dads are asking AI for legal help. Here’s what fatherhood programs need to know 👇

AI systems, like ChatGPT, can translate legal language into plain English or suggest what questions dads should consider. But there are critical aspects of court proceedings that still require attorney guidance, and fatherhood practitioners must help dads understand the difference. 👏

In this Dads Pad Blog post, we examine artificial intelligence as a tool for dads advocating for their legal rights and discuss the continued, critical role of fatherhood programs in legal navigation with (or without) AI: https://bit.ly/4zQ7wTo

Too often, we flatten the conversation about fatherhood into opposing sides. 🤦🏽

❌ Fathers vs. mothers
❌ Rights vs. responsibilities
❌ Child support vs. parenting time
❌ Safety vs. access

When rooted in responsibility, safety, healing, and policy change, fatherhood advocacy is child advocacy. 👊 It’s the insistence that children shouldn’t lose a loving, capable, and willing parent simply because the systems designed to help families are adversarial, outdated, expensive, or indifferent.

Fatherhood advocacy must ask not only whether we believe fathers matter, but also whether our laws and services behave as if they do. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4b4clxA

The question isn’t whether child support should be paid. It should.

The better question is whether our policies are designed to produce payment, presence, and child well-being or debt, disconnection, and punishment. 🤔

This isn’t an argument against child support. It’s a call to advocate for a smarter child support system: https://bit.ly/4wDXfaY
