Let’s be clear: In our work with fathers, we always prioritize family safety and child well-being. 👏

We *also* believe dads deserve care and support independent of their roles as fathers and co-parents and don’t understand why that’s considered so radical. 🤷🏼‍♂️

There are many reasons to worry about social media, and at least one affects our ability to serve fathers and families.

Social commentary doesn’t stay on social media. It shows up in our homes, institutions, relationships, policies, workplaces, churches, and schools. It shows up in the lives of children, in families, and in the work of people trying to serve them.

Here’s the danger:

⚠️ When online conversations take the lead instead of people’s needs
⚠️ When trending issues replace foundational programming
⚠️ When the current argument influences how we see families

As public servants, we should understand cultural shifts and stay open to changing our minds, but we can’t let our social conscience be rewritten every morning by whatever happens to cross our screen.
