Diagnosed with right-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) before birth, Maddy has spent her life overcoming medical challenges. But rather than letting those experiences define her limitations, she has turned them into a passion for helping others.

Growing up, Maddy watched her mother care for others as a NICU nurse for 20 years. When her mother was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, their roles reversed, and Maddy stepped up to help care for her family. Together, these experiences taught her that a diagnosis doesn’t have to determine your future.

For the past five years, Maddy has served as a camp counselor for children with special needs, while also advocating for inclusion through Special Olympics and other school initiatives.

This fall, Maddy will attend Missouri State University, studying Exercise Science with plans to become a pediatric occupational therapist—giving back to the medical community that has given so much to her.

Her dream is to inspire other CDH families by sharing a message of hope: A child with CDH can survive, thrive, and defy the odds. 💗

What a weekend in Sun Valley. 🏔️💗

29,029 vertical feet.
24 miles.
15 laps.
36 hours.
17 Fore Hadley climbers.
17 Red Hats.

Bald Mountain gave us everything it had — steep climbs, dust, wind, tired legs, incredible views, and more than a few moments when we had to dig a little deeper.

But this weekend was never just about reaching 29,029 feet.

Together, Team Fore Hadley raised more than $182,000 to support the Fore Hadley Foundation and our mission to make a difference for children and families impacted by Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH).

Behind every dollar was someone who believed in this team and this mission. To everyone who donated, encouraged us, followed along, shared our story, or supported one of our climbers: thank you. You were part of this climb, too.

One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend was watching Hadley’s story and the Fore Hadley mission reach far beyond our 17 climbers. Throughout the event, people stopped to ask about the guys in pink, learn about CDH, hear about Hadley Kate, and understand why this mountain meant so much to us.

Those conversations mattered. And on laps 7, 9…and probably a few others…they helped remind us why we were still putting one foot in front of the other.

A huge thank you to the entire 29029 team for creating an experience that pushes people to discover what they’re capable of while giving them an opportunity to climb for something much bigger than themselves.

One surgeon changed the way 2026 Fore Hope Scholarship winner Jacob Garland saw medicine—and his future.

Throughout years of orthopedic treatment, Jacob’s surgeon didn’t just care for him. He listened to him, involved him in decisions, and made him feel like his voice mattered.

That experience inspired Jacob’s goal:
Become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon.

Jacob hopes to one day provide children facing CDH and other orthopedic conditions with the same compassion, respect, and confidence that his surgeon gave him.

This fall, Jacob begins the next step of that journey at Western Michigan University, bringing with him a 3.9 GPA, an Associate Degree in Science, extensive clinical experience—and a firsthand understanding of the kind of surgeon he wants to become.

This research update feels different, but after 5 years of supporting ‘s CDH genetic research, we are thrilled to share their findings with you which were recently published in the American Journal of Medical Genetics! Brief summary below, but the entire paper can be downloaded at the link in our bio!

A newly published study analyzing over 500 patients found that genetic factors may play a role in up to 61% of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) cases—including many previously considered “isolated.” This research highlights the complexity of CDH and the importance of continued investment in genetic discovery and innovation.

At the Fore Hadley Foundation, this is exactly why we fund research—to better understand CDH, improve outcomes, and ultimately bring hope to families facing it every day.

We’re so incredibly encouraged by the progress—and are doubling down our investment to further move the needle!!
