Congratulations. Keep up the hard work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
As college students across Texas head back to campus, one Hays CISD alumna is beginning her journey with $40,000 in financial support!
Congratulations to Johnson High Class of 2026 graduate Emily Buenrostro who was awarded the SpawGlass 2026 T. Frank Glass Memorial Scholarship. Established in 2003 and named in honor of SpawGlass co-founder T. Frank Glass, the scholarship reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to investing in employee families through higher education. The scholarship provides up to $40,000 to eligible dependent children of SpawGlass employees pursuing undergraduate degrees. Emily’s father, Lazaro Buenrostro, has worked as a form builder setter in the company’s San Antonio Region since April 2020.
This fall, Emily will attend Texas A&M University to study biomedical sciences before pursuing a physician assistant degree. Her interest in health care grew through HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a global student-led organization that develops future health care leaders through education, leadership development and hands-on experience, as well as through her high school’s biomedical sciences program.
Those opportunities strengthened her commitment to a career that blends scientific expertise with compassionate patient care. Emily distinguished herself through academic achievement, leadership and community service. She earned a 4.44 weighted grade-point average while maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average in dual-credit coursework at Austin Community College. She also served as vice president of HOSA, was head spirit coordinator for her class, organized community blood drives and volunteered throughout her community.
Let's give a big Hays CISD shoutout to Emily on this absolutely amazing honor! Congratulations, Emily! Information and photo courtesy SpawGlass.
