Weakley County Backpack Program The Backpack Program is a very important program that benefits the children of Weakley County. It costs approximately $5 per week per child.

Our Mission Statement is: To help alleviate child hunger in Weakley County, Tennessee by providing hungry children with nutritious and easy to prepare food at times when other resources are not available such as on the weekend and school vacations. Our mission is to meet the needs of hungry children by providing nutritious meals on the weekends and other school vacations when school resources are

not available. Although many children may qualify, we only serve the neediest students as determined by the faculty and staff. A packet of food is placed in each child's backpack each Friday before they leave school by the staff. This organization is non-profit and relies entirely on private donations. For as little as $200 you can sponsor a child for a year. However, any amount is appreciated! Donations can be sent to PO Box 804 Dresden, TN 38225 or dropped off at any Simmons Bank location. As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, the Weakley County Backpack Program is gearing up to ensure our students have the food they need. We invite you to join us on the first Tuesday of every month at 12:00 PM at 490 Morrow Street Dresden, TN. Please add these packing dates to your calendar, and share with your friends, family, and coworkers—all volunteers are welcome!

We are pleased to announce that packing for the 2025/2026 school year is complete, and we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all individuals who donated, volunteered, or provided support through their prayers. Your dedication to our program is truly appreciated, and we appreciate your support. We look forward to seeing everyone in September for another great year.
