Our hearts are leaving Honduras full! The final day for MVF Honduras team began shopping for food that we would help prepare and serve to the sponsorship program children. When we arrived at the church there was a team that went back to the local school to finish the painting project while a few stayed back to help in the kitchen.

We then helped pack food for the sponsored seniors, helped with the kids program and serve food. Our friends at Penasquitos had a small going away party for us- blessing us with a meal and many goodbyes. Our team has so much gratitude for our time on this trip and can only say that we have seen the goodness of God in here in all that we have done. We will miss our Honduran church family and ask you keep us in prayer as we travel home.

Monday (yesterday) started for the MVF Honduras team at the market for a brief shopping trip. We quickly turned around and returned to the hostel where we and a crew from Penasquitos packed food and hospital supplies.

From there we went to the largest hospital in Honduras. We separated into two teams. One team went into the hospital and visited the Child Trauma Unit and the ICU where we prayed and passed out supplies. The other remained outside to pass out food and prayed for those waiting to get in to receive care or hear from their loved ones. We all heard stories of grief and pain but also there was so much hope. To our surprise we were approached for prayer multiple times. While we experienced varied emotions in our time at the hospital, we can see God at work. This was a day we are so grateful for both our highs and our lows. Pray for us today as this is our last day with our church family here.

On Sunday the MVF Honduras team could be found at the Penasquitos church. There was a time of worship where testimonies were shared and Pastor Karl gave a message out of Colossians. Several of the team helped with the Sunday school classes, serving food and teaching a baptism class on the Holy Spirit.

After worship was over we simply enjoyed our time playing games and reading together.

Day 3 for the MVF Heber team was our tourism day. We had a day at the beach with the leaders and volunteers of Penasquitos. Our fellowship included swim lessons for kids, soccer games and time in the ocean. Not to mention enjoying God’s creation together!

Our day of rest was peaceful and prepared our hearts to worship together Sunday morning. We are excited to keep everyone updated.

The MVF Honduras Team’s second day can only be described as joyful! We began the day by finishing the sponsorship updates. Getting to meet those we help support is a blessing beyond words.

We also had a team visit a local school. They distributed school supplies, played with the kids, and painted classrooms. Our friends from Penasquitos served right alongside us.

A few of us made a home visit to see old friends and see how much their kids have grown. It was such a delight to see this wonderful family. We are truly honored to be partnered with this Church community!

The MVF Honduras team has arrived! Our travel day was met with delays but incredible provision as we arrived in San Pedro Sula in the early hours of the morning of the 12th! We had a warm welcome with everyone waiting to greet us - despite the late hour!

After a few hours of sleep, we went to the church and dove headfirst into serving. We had our first day of sponsorship updates and had a crew helping with road construction. Our team had a day of joy and blessing. We are so grateful to be here!

Do you want to serve in Guatemala? We want to mobilize you to greater Kingdom-oriented missional engagement through participating in one of our Compassion Teams!

The goal of our compassion teams is to offer opportunities to build gospel-oriented relationships with the Guatemalan people through compassion projects facilitated through our local partners. We use data collected through our ongoing medical outreach in the community to identify the most pressing needs and then formulate a plan to help with our Guatemalan partners. We want to help you get involved in this work!

Last day of clinic!

Today was extra special as we celebrated our amazing dentist, Albita, who has faithfully served with us for TEN years! What a gift she has been to our team and to every patient she’s cared for. Her compassion, excellence, and joyful spirit have left a lasting mark on Healing Nations. 💙

While we will miss her dearly, we’re so excited for the new season God has ahead for her. She will always have a special place in the Healing Nations family!

Please keep our team in your prayers as we travel back home tomorrow. We’re grateful, and so thankful for all God has done this week!
