Remembering the one. 🇺🇸

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, the South Salt Lake Police Department honors and remembers Officer David Romrell, who gave his life in the line of duty while serving and protecting our community.

His courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy continues to inspire those who wear the badge. We stand with gratitude and respect for Officer Romrell, his family, and all fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Rosie the Riveter Day

Today we honor the legacy of Rosie the Riveter and the countless women who stepped forward to strengthen our nation and support the military community throughout history.

During times of war and uncertainty, women across America answered the call. They worked in factories, shipyards, and airfields, building the equipment and supplies needed to support our troops. Their strength, determination, and patriotism helped shape the course of history and proved that courage takes many forms.

Rosie the Riveter became a symbol of resilience and unity, representing women who stood behind our service members and ensured they had the support needed to succeed.

Today we also recognize the women who continue that legacy. Military mothers, spouses, veterans, active duty service members, and the many women who support our troops and their families every day.

Their dedication reminds us that the strength of our military community has always been built not only by those who serve in uniform, but also by the women who stand beside them.

Blue Star Mothers of America proudly honors the women who helped build our nation’s strength and those who continue to support our military community today. 🇺🇸

Salt Lake City Fire Department

It is with heavy hearts that the Salt Lake City Fire Department shares the passing of Firefighter Chris Bluth. Chris passed away last night at his home in Costa Rica.

Chris was a 30-year veteran of the Salt Lake City Fire Department. He was highly respected throughout the state of Utah and across the broader fire service community.

Chris dedicated his life not only to serving the residents of Salt Lake City, but also to supporting and mentoring firefighters across the state, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of the fire service. His legacy of service, leadership, compassion, and larger-than-life presence will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

On behalf of the Salt Lake City Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to the entire Bluth family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time.

We kindly ask that the family’s privacy be respected as they grieve this tremendous loss.
