What a wonderful night celebrating 50 years of NeighborGood Partners!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on October 8 to celebrate five decades of building stronger communities. It was an evening filled with wonderful memories, meaningful stories, and a reminder of why the work we do matters.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Stuart Comstock-Gay, President & CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation, and our special guest speaker, Lissa Brutus, Ms. Black Delaware USA 2026, for sharing their inspiring messages.

We are especially grateful to our customers who shared their personal stories. Your experiences are at the heart of our mission and remind us of the impact we can make together.

Thank you to the Joe Baione Vibraphone Experience for the wonderful live music, Tower of Strength Enterprise for keeping the celebration going, King Cole Farm for hosting us in such a beautiful space, and Jimmy’s Grille for the delicious food. We also extend our sincere appreciation to all of our generous sponsors for helping make this special evening possible.

To our incredible staff, thank you for the countless hours, hard work, and dedication that went into bringing this event together. It truly was a team effort!

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who has supported NeighborGood Partners throughout the years. Whether you’ve been part of our journey for decades or are just getting to know us, we’re grateful to have you alongside us.

Here’s to 50 years of impact and all that we’ll accomplish together in the years ahead!

As part of our 50th anniversary, our staff recently hit the road for a bus tour highlighting our projects and partnerships across Delaware. From completed homes and community spaces to projects still taking shape, it was a chance to see firsthand just how far our work has reached and the communities that have been part of our story.

A huge thank you to Jill Lordan for all the work she put into planning and coordinating the day, including the very nice bus that kept us comfortable for all those miles! We also want to thank Milford Housing Development Corporation’s Self-Help Housing Program for welcoming us and giving our team a tour of their homes, and Lewes Public Library for taking the time to show us around their beautiful facility and share more about the project.

After 50 years, there is a lot of ground to cover, literally. We’re grateful for the partners, communities and people who have helped make this work possible, and we’re excited about everything still ahead.

Tonight, NeighborGood Partners was honored by the City of Dover with a Certificate of Congratulations recognizing our 50th anniversary and five decades of service to our community.

Since beginning our housing mission in 1976 to serve communities throughout Delaware, NeighborGood Partners has grown and evolved, working to expand affordable housing, support homeownership, strengthen neighborhoods, provide financial empowerment and create opportunities for individuals and families across the state and beyond.

We are especially grateful that the City recognized not only our work, but the generations of employees, board members, volunteers, partners, residents, customers and community leaders who have made these 50 years possible.

Thank you to the City of Dover for this meaningful recognition and for being such an important part of our story.

50 Years of Impact. And we’re not done yet.

There were so many great moments from yesterday’s gathering that we weren’t able to share them all in one post. Here are a few more from the conversations, remarks and people who came together in Laurel to celebrate the work ahead.

We’re grateful for everyone who joined us, shared their support and continues to believe in what’s possible for Meadow View and the families we hope to serve.

More good things to come! Check out yesterday’s post for more details about Meadow View and the project.

We were proud to welcome members of Delaware’s congressional delegation, community leaders and partners to Laurel, Delaware today to share the vision for Meadow View, a proposed affordable homeownership community planned to include 245 homes. The visit was also an opportunity to celebrate the $2 million in federal funding helping move this important project forward.

Projects like this take strong partnerships and a shared commitment to creating more opportunities for families to achieve homeownership. We are incredibly grateful to our federal, state and local partners and to everyone who joined us today in support of this work.

There is still much work ahead, but we are excited about what we can accomplish together for the families who will one day call Meadow View home.

Thank you for believing in this community and helping us build what comes next.

Meadow View has also been supported by $3 million in State ARPA funding used to secure the property, with a $6.88 million New Markets Tax Credits equity allocation currently pending. We are grateful for the many partners and funding sources working together to help make this vision possible.
