Today Rotarian Paul Giannobile introduced our speaker- Bob Laghetto. Bob spoke of his time as a volunteer in the Peace Corp in Ghana. He returned several times and met and later married Akua. They answered questions about her experiences and of her time here in the states. Great information!

Our program yesterday was a group of students from Claymont High School’s Junior Achievement program. They spoke of their business project which is a book and an app called Next Chapter. Great group of young adults, great speakers and their knowledge of their product is exceptional. Teacher advisor Andy Zimmerman spoke of their competitions and upcoming activities. Our speaker today was Miles Riley from Springvale Health Centers. He spoke of the history of Springvale centers to now include primary care and pharmacy. He spoke of their new location on Oxford street. Great info. ( Miles is the grandson of previous Dover Rotarian Emmett Riley)

Rotarian Paul Giannobile had many family members and friends in attendance with him at Monday’s meeting. They were there to support him in his recent trip to Cuba. Paul spoke about the many classic cars that he had seen while visiting the island. He talked about a start-up body shop in Havanna but said he would need to speak with Castro first!!!( maybe Rubio now!!)

Today Dover Rotarian Paul Giannobile introduced our speaker, Laz Pujol of Bespoke Travel. Laz works with people interested in traveling/ visiting Cuba. Paul, along with a group of friends, travelled to Cuba. Lazapoke today on the history of Cuba and how he got involved with a travel agency specializing on traveling to the island. Great info.

Today we had some extra “goodies” at lunch courtesy of cottage bakery Almond Buttermilk. The owner and chef- Red Hvizdos shared with us some of her bakery treats. She spoke of her packaged snacks and treats she bakes for a variety of events. She baked several of our snacks and deserts for the Rotary Christmas party in December. Thank you Red!!!!!
