Delivering Food To Those Who Lost What They Called Home (6 August 2026)

After we did our evacuation 7km from the Russian border and brought all the people and animals to the transit point, we had one important job left to do. That was to bring some very much needed food to the animals of the IDPs who no longer had a home. At their transit point, Unity & Strength have an animal shelter for these animals who lost their homes and for many of them, their families as well. These are the dogs and cats who no longer have families or no longer have homes. Some of these animals have families who are in the transit pipeline, and others have nothing.

Thankfully, they have an organization who cares enough about their lives to care for them and ensure they are safe. We had asked them if they needed anything, and the response was dry and wet food. Thanks for our good friend Tom Bates with K9 Rescue Ukraine , we were able to pick up 700kg of food that will now manage to go towards helping an estimated 200 animals. When we delivered this food, we saw that they were literally down to their last bag of dog food that you see in the video.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen. Again, it shows that working together for a common goal pays off in the amount of aid that can be distributed to those in need. The more we come together to help one another can only increase the numbers of animals and people we can help in the process.

Isn't that the whole point of it all in the first place?

We are Global Animal Rescue And Response and helping those in need is what we do.

Wog Dog Update!!!!! (September 2026)

SOMEONE is doing very well in his foster location. His sutures came out weeks ago and now he is going through the processes to get him ready to leave Ukraine before the end of the year. All of his vaccines have been done along with his titer test, and it is just a waiting period now before he can cross the border to Poland.

Once he is in Poland he will go to another foster location as the process begins for him to be ready to travel to the US. That is going to take some time, but it is going to be much more loving and warmer than the Wog would have been for him over the winter.

We still need help with his vet bills that totaled just under 23,000UAH. We are just under halfway to that mark. You can donate on either our website or our Zeffy fundraiser page. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501c3 registered charity.

Thank you all and we are getting closer to seeing him again so he can STOMP STOMP STOMP...

A Rescue 7km From The Russian Border (6 August 2026)

Animals Evacuated - 3
Humans Evacuated -2
Supplies Delivered - 700kg
Kilometers Driven - 1300
Hours Awake - 54

This was the longest evacuation we had this trip when it came to hours awake. Our clock started at 0600 on 5 August and did not stop until 1300 on 7 August. It was a request from Unity & Strength for dual assistance with both animal and medical support for an evacuation that was 7km from the Russian border in the Sumy Oblast.

We had an elderly woman who was bedridden and immobile, along with her daughter caretaker and their three dogs. No other teams would come for them due to the location and the dogs they have. Based on that location, the evacuation would require an armored vehicle, which Unity & Strength has.

During the evac, the Dzyga and Chuyka detectors went off multiple times. We had drones fly directly over our location as well. Once we got everyone in the van and verified stable, we started the drive out to the transit center. Our van was left under a tree for safety with food for an IDP animal shelter.

The supplies we delivered were part of the almost ton we had picked up from our friend Tom Bates from K9 Rescue Ukraine. The shelter holds animals that IDPs could not take with them, and they were literally down to their last bag of food when we brought this 250kg of dry and wet food for them. It was a much needed and appreciated delivery that absolutely helped them out.

54 hours after starting and one Wog Dog visit later, we arrived back in Kharkiv ready to get some much needed sleep and prepare to do it all over again.

Two years ago this was our office. Artillery was what flew through the air. Now it's been replaced mostly by drones and KABs, which can both be much deadlier and accurate

She Had Been Waiting Months For Someone To Evacuate She And Her Animals (18 August 2026)

LONG VIDEO!!!!!!!

Animals Evacuated - 34
Owners Evacuated - 1
Kilometers Driven - 1,300
Mission Length - 21 Hours

We had a request through UAnimals of a woman in Kramatorsk who has been trying for months to evacuate with her animals. She has a farm where she has taken in animals and keeps them in a sanctuary setting at her house. She has been begging to be evacuated, but no one would come for her. Thankfully we could do it since we could get the cow into our van along with the majority of the goats. Our good friend Tom Bates with K9 Rescue Ukraine planned to come along as well to help out.

We realized the day before that we were going to need a second van because she wanted to bring personal items and had animals she wanted separated from the others. Thankfully Tom had his van, into which we loaded some of the dogs, goats, chickens.

The pregnant cow was the hardest to load since she was unsure of what was going on. Finally she loaded and then twelve goats went after her. This was after we loaded five chickens and a dog into our van. With the sound of artillery all around and us and the constant beeping of the drone detectors, we started our drive out with Nataliya following us in her car. Shortly after we departed, we had to hook her trailer onto the back of our van since she would never make that drive pulling all that weight with her car.

The final tally of animals rescued and evacuated were:

1 Pregnant Cow
14 Goats
14 Chickens
4 Dogs
1 Cat
1 Owner (Owner is not an animal)

With the constantly rising cost of diesel, we need your help now more than ever to support our lifesaving missions!!!

Working To Stop The Unwanted Litters (23 July 2026)

After we caught the first girl, we turned our attention to the other two sisters of the one we caught. These dogs were at the age that they were going to soon come into heat and then continue the cycle of unwanted puppies. The only way to stop them was to sterilize the dogs, and the only way to sterilize them was to dart them and catch them with sedation.

We placed the sedated girl where the food was so they would smell her and come back to eat with her there. Once the dogs showed up it was a matter of getting the right angle to send the dart. The first one got hung up in the pipe by the tail and did not fly correctly. The second dart luckily found a spot and Max followed the dog with the drone until he was sleeping about 90 seconds later.

We then had a chance to dart the mother of all of these dogs as well as another litter that was currently at the location. She did not come close enough and we were running out of daylight. Stan and I walked out and collected the one darted from the field and then loaded both dogs up to go to the vet the be sterilized along with the others caught or collected that day.

Programs like this are what your generous donations allow us to continue working on. All donations are fully tax deductible as GARR is a 501(c)3 IRS registered non-profit.

Stopping The Cycle Before It Starts (23 July 2026)

During our last trip, we went twice to this agricultural facility to try and catch the ones who have eluded all of Stan's efforts thus far. The goal was to catch seven dogs, of which we knew three were girls. Looking at them I could tell they were young, so we needed to stop the cycle of unwanted litters before they began. The problem was the dogs would not come to anyone but this one man who feeds them. Even then, they would not get close enough to allow him to pick them up for us to take.

As you can see the dart found it's mark. Max had a drone up in the air (still quite unnerving after last year) looking for where the dogs were coming from. After she was darted, the girl started wandering back into the thick brush with another of her littermates. We hoped to be able to dart her sibling as well, but he disappeared once it was apparent his sister was not going to be covering any more distance. Thankfully he circled back to the feeding point and we were able to dart him after getting her back so they knew she was OK.

We knew these were older puppies. There is concern about age on dogs of sterilizing too soon or too late. But as you have seen in our videos, dogs of all ages are having puppies and the only responsible way to stop the cycle is through sterilization. Stan was concerned she might be too young, but a quick teeth check while she was over my shoulders confirmed she had all of her adult teeth. She was taken to the clinic and sterilized along with her siblings before returning them to the same place.

We are doing everything we can to help these animals with the only possible method that is able to get results in situations like this.....

One dart at at a time........
