Help us spice things up at the Fire on Main Street Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Nov. 22! We’re looking for volunteers to fill key roles and make this event a success:
Judges – Sample and score delicious chili entries
Ticket Sales – Greet guests & handle ticketing
Clean-Up Crew – Help wrap up after the event

It’s a fun way to be part of one of our favorite fall traditions while supporting our community!

🎄🤠 Volunteer Call – Cowboy Christmas in Douglas! 🤠🎄

Be part of one of Douglas’s biggest holiday traditions – Cowboy Christmas! We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help make this event run smoothly and sparkle with holiday cheer.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Vendor Check-In: Help greet and check in vendors on Friday, Nov. 21. We need two shifts with three volunteers each.

Holiday Decorating: Love to decorate? Join the setup crew on Thursday afternoon to help transform the building interiors into a festive holiday wonderland!

🎄✨ Volunteer Opportunity: Twilight & Christmas at the Depot! 🚂☕

The holiday season is almost here — and we need your help to make it truly magical! ✨

Main Street Douglas and the Douglas Railroad Museum are looking for volunteers for our Twilight at the Depot and Christmas at the Depot events. We have 7 festive sessions where you can help bring the holiday magic to life!

🎅 Volunteer Roles Include:
🚂 Conductors – punch train tickets for guests
☕ Hot Chocolate Servers – spread warmth and cheer
📖 Book Reader – bring The Polar Express to life
📚 Page Turners (2) – assist the reader during storytime

You can sign up for one or more sessions — every helping hand makes someone’s day a little brighter! 💫

🎄✨ Volunteer Opportunity: Mingle & Jingle Square Lighting Ceremony! 🎅🔥

We’re gearing up for one of the most magical nights of the year — the Mingle & Jingle Square Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 5th — and we need YOUR help to make it shine! 🌟

💪 Volunteer Roles Include:
☕ Making & serving hot chocolate
🔥 Tending fire pits and monitoring heaters in the square
🔊 Helping with setup & cleanup (sound system, trash, barricades for the parade, etc.)

🎃 A Huge THANK YOU 🎃

To the families who showed up to help with a little fall and Halloween decorating at the Douglas Railroad Museum & Visitor Center — you are AMAZING! 🙌

Your time, teamwork, and positive energy are so appreciated, especially during such a busy season. What could’ve been a two-day chore turned into just one hour of fun thanks to all your helping hands!

We had a blast and hope you did too. 💛

🌸 Serve Douglas Volunteers Rock! 🌸

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who came out last weekend to help pick up the downtown flower pots! 🙌

We are so grateful to Ivy & Garrett, the Pfeifer family, the Hoffmans & Goodwins, and Homewood Suites by Hilton of Douglas for lending their time and muscle to see this project through. 💪 It may have been a small but mighty crew, but your efforts make a big difference — we truly couldn’t do these community projects without people like YOU! 💚

Also, a big shoutout to all the businesses and community members who watered, cared for, or even kept planters out to transition from summer blooms to fall décor (and soon, winter greenery!). 🍁🎄 Your creativity and pride in our community help keep it looking beautiful all year long.

🍂 Want to get involved? We still have 5 planters available downtown for anyone who’d like to take one on and decorate for fall! You can decorate yourself, donate décor, or even contribute funds to help Main Street Douglas continue this fun beautification effort. We left 17 of the 70 planters to try this new extended beautification effort.

Let’s keep Douglas looking festive — just in time for the Scarecrow Contest! 🎃
