Ripple Effect Project Update: Through the sell of paintings made by children in Haiti and sold by youth in the US a garden in Haiti was funded. This garden will not only feed children at Shepherds House orphanage and school, but the remaining produce will also be sold in local markets to help support Shepherds House. More importantly the youth in Haiti are being taught how to grow their own produce. This is a skill that could prevent from future hunger. They will get to harvest their first crop at the end of June. Haiti has been through so much these past few years. Between the assassination of their president, to an uprise in gang violence, kidnapping of 18 US missionaries, and an Earthquake that caused countless deaths. In the middle of it all a small ministry called Shepherds House is still holding onto the hope that new things can grow in Haiti. Pray for this garden, pray for the children in Haiti, from for Shepherds House Ministries, and pray for peace for Haiti.
It's such an honor that the Ripple Effect Project Youth International gets to partner with Shepherds House Ministries.

If you have ever felt called to go on a missions trip, maybe this is your time!!! Come to our informational meeting on Sunday, April 24th, at 2pm, at the Gathering Church.

Our biggest goal with the Ripple Effect Project is to empower and equip youth to help change the world. We do this by building a bridge between our youth in the US and youth in other parts of the world.
We have started a program through the Ripple Effect Project called MYAC (Missions Youth Advisory Committee). Those who have been selected to be apart of MYAC are youth who have traveled on a missions trip with the Ripple Effect Project and have demonstrated a heart for missions, being willing to continue to serve on missions trips, and have good leadership skills. Our 3 MYACer's have now traveled to Belize with me twice. On this recent trip they got an opportunity to tour a local elementary school called Solid Rock Christian Academy. The school has been working really hard to fundraise for a new building. Their classrooms as is are over crowded. The MYACer's were really moved by the children in this school and they have decided they want to help fundraise the money needed to put the roof on this school building. Its going to cost $7,500 US to put a roof on.
Without waisting a moment the MYAC crew rounded up paint, tablets, and everything needed, they went to the school and painted with the youth. We brought back those paintings to be sold and 100% of everything earned on these paintings is going to help put a roof on this school building.

Just imagine.... what if all the paintings are sold, and money is earned by youth in the US who helped create a product with youth in Belize and then a roof to a school is built... what an amazing imagery of youth being empowered to change the world. They will get to hold that in their hearts, that they were apart of something that will make such a huge impact in the the community of Dangriga, Belize.
Then it ripples out even further... can you imagine all the students that will learn for years to come under that roof.

The children at Shepherds House are donating some of their clothes to the children who are earthquake victims. A team will take them with other supplies to the South particularly in Cavaillon area this weekend.

Thank you for those who have reached out and have asked how to donate. Because of your help Shepherds House Ministries can bring clean water, tarps, toiletry items and other essential supplies to those impacted by the Earthquake in Haiti.

An Update from Haiti! 🇭🇹

💥If you wanna help please contact us and we can let you know how you can donate to Shepherds House Ministries and the Earthquake relief in Haiti💥

Message from Aaron Nelson at Shepherds House in Haiti:

We finally made it back to Gressier. Pastor Milien and I plus two of our staff left Gressier this morning around 5:30am.
Everything was going as planned until we hit a roadblocks halfway to our destination.

As I am writing this note an aftershock just happened and it’s raining on top of it.

After some drivers negotiated with the locals they decided to let us through. Thank you so much for your prayers.

We met with a lot of Hurricane’s victims. Their stories are heartbreaking. We met a young girl (about 15 yes old) she was sleeping inside her grandma’s house when the earthquake happened. She was hit by a bloc on top of her head and her left foot. We could tell she was in pain and her speech was not coming out clear. She hasn't seen a doctor yet. Now she’s staying in a camp near a Catholic Church which dates from 1720 that is also completely destroyed.

Another young man was still in bed last Saturday when the earthquake struck at 8:30am. His entire house collapsed over him. They pulled him out 2 days later.

We visited a few sites and decided to focus our help in Cavaillon.
Every victims are asking for the same help:
1.) Clean water(because water line is contaminated)
2.) food
3.) tents/tarps
4.) hygiene supplies:
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Comb
Soap
Feminine hygiene
Toilet papers

Our goal is to start bringing those supplies to them by this weekend. We will be able to purchase everything in the towns near us.

The long term reliefs will be to help them start rebuilding their homes after the clean up.

Hurricane Grace is already causing a lot of flooding in some part of the south.
We want to thank you for your continued prayers and support. Together we can help the victims of this horrific event.

Please Pray for our Haitian Family! Aaron Nelson and a team from Shepherds House are currently in Les Cayes, one of the major areas affect by the Earthquake. They brought 3,000 bags of water to aid those in need and are trying to offer help and assistance in the recovery process. They are facing many challenges right now and need some prayer!

Tropical storm Grace is expected to hit Haiti this evening. However, last night the rain started... Pray for their safety and protection.

Please pray for Haiti 🇭🇹

They were hit by a 7.2mag Earthquake this morning.

We checked in with our Haitian family at Shepherds House. All the kids are safe and okay. There has been some damage to the dorm. Aaron Nelson will bring a team over on Monday to start the recovery process.

Please keep Shepherds House Ministries in your prayers, and pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

If you want to know how you can help those affected in Haiti please let us know.
We will continue to stay in contact with those at Shepherds House as try to find ways we can help.
