“The Cross is brighter than the sun, more brilliant than its rays; for when the sun is darkened, the Cross shines brightly. And the sun is darkened not because it is extinguished, but because it is conquered by the brilliance of the cross.”
-St John Chrysostom

We have enjoyed an extremely festive two weeks at Holy Trinity as we celebrated the first two Great Feasts of the year!

On September the 8th, the birthday of the Mother of God, following the festive vigil on the prior evening and Divine Liturgy for the feast day, Matushka treated us all to a delicious “Nativi-tea of the Theotokos” tea party brunch, complete with fresh fruit, scones, and tea cakes.

On the following Sunday, we began our religious educational programming year as we blessed our church school students and teachers for the first day of classes. Later that afternoon, Great Vespers and Litya was served for the feast of the precious cross.

On Monday morning, Divine Liturgy for the Exaltation of the Cross was celebrated. I look forward to continue celebrating this Great Feast of our Lord with you all this weekend!
