🎒Back to School Bash 2026 was a success!🎒

Last Friday, in partnership with Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, Youth United, and Detroit Parks & Recreation, we hosted our annual Back to School Bash! It was a fun afternoon filled with backpacks, games, pizza, face paining, and community!

This would not have been possible without the support from all of the Backpacks for Dreams donors! Thanks to you, we surpassed our goal of raising $10,000 and we were able to provide over 800 children with backpacks filled with school supplies!📚✏️🎒

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and volunteered to make sure this event was a success! 💕

"Young people struggling with mental health challenges often turn to drugs or alcohol to cope. MiSide, a Detroit nonprofit that provides a broad range of community, health and economic services, is working to break that pattern through its Youth-Nominated Support Team (YST) intervention, which pairs structured social support from trusted adults with clinical care.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) Foundation helped launch the initiative by awarding MiSide with a $50,000 Community Health Matching Grant in July 2025."
