Looking through these photos, we’re reminded that the best part of Marygrove hasn’t changed, and that is the people. Our Detroit community is just as much a part of this campus as our historic buildings! The Kresge Foundation is coming home, and the whole neighborhood is part of the plan. 🏡

A new playground, basketball court, walking paths and a campus quad are all on the way, along with Kresge’s new headquarters breaking ground in spring 2027. Thank you to WXYZ-TV Channel 7 for telling the story, and to our neighbors at Live6 Alliance and Ella Fitzgerald Park Conservancy for showing what this investment means on the ground.

More details are emerging about how the Kresge Foundation plans to invest in Detroit as it prepares to relocate its headquarters to the Marygrove campus in northwest Detroit.

Some spaces make a gathering feel a little more personal 💚

With a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, a piano, and a private foyer for welcoming guests, Denk Chapman Hall brings a warm feel to our historic Detroit campus. From intimate celebrations to meetings and recitals, there’s room for 65 guests banquet-style or 80 theater-style.

Join us at Marygrove Conservancy for Sonic Memory Circles, a free community gathering exploring how sound connects us to our memories and Detroit’s history. Through conversation, live performance, and an interactive exhibition, we’ll listen, share, and celebrate the stories we carry across generations.

The deadline has been extended to be part of the MI Healthy Climate (MHC) Fellows Program!

Starting in January 2027, MHC Fellows will be placed at host sites across Michigan for eight months, moving climate action forward and building a foundation for a career invested in Michigan’s sustainable future. As a fellow, you will accelerate climate action by providing capacity, connecting your host partner to key resources, and supporting your community in reaching its climate goals. This is the final planned MHC Fellows Cohort—now is the time to join this movement!
