Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologist Members!!!!!!!!

Urgent – Call to Action -- New Maryland COMAR Amendments To Be Discussed!!!

The MSRT would like you to be aware of recently approved regulations in Maryland and we hope to hear your voice!

The amendments to COMAR 10.32.10 modifies the scope of practice for Radiation Therapists, allows for Radiologist Assistants to be supervised by Radiation Oncologists, and eliminates the accreditation requirements for education programs.

The Maryland Board of Physician’s Radiation Therapy, Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Tech, & Radiologist Assistance Advisory Committee has an upcoming meeting scheduled on March 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM where it is expected that the amendments to COMAR 10.32.10 that were approved by the Board of Physicians in their December 2025 meeting and went into effect on January 19 will be raised and discussed in a public forum.

ASRT encourages MSRT members to attend this meeting and testify to the Advisory Committee. Information for the meeting will be available here (2026 Board Meetings | Radiation Therapy, Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, and Radiologist Assistants) where the agenda and any materials are usually posted 1 week in advance.

Let’s testify at the open forum that we are against these new amendments!

Be Aware – HB1047/SB915 Bills – Radiologic Technologist Student Pathway to Become LXMO

The MSRT will like you to be aware of a HB1047/SB915 Bills, which allows for Radiologic Technologist Students to take the ARRT LXMO exam after successfully completing the recommended requirements within the RT programs.

Future Committee hearings:
Health Committee (HB1047): Wednesday, March 4th at 1pm, House Office Building, Annapolis (subject to change)
Sign-up deadline is Monday, March 2nd

Finance Committee (SB915): Tuesday, March 3rd at 1pm, East Miller Senate Building (subject to change)
Sign-up deadline is Friday, February 27th
