The NPA Institutional Policy Awards (IPAs) recognize organizations that have implemented institutional policies and procedures designed to improve the postdoctoral experience in alignment with the "NPA Recommended Postdoctoral Policies and Practices (2024) (RPPP)."

The NPA Meetings Committee is seeking abstracts for 60-minute concurrent sessions and poster presentations to be included in the 2027 NPA Annual Conference. The primary goals of the NPA conference are:

1️⃣ Careers: Provide a forum for exchange and networking between the NPA and attendees regarding career opportunities, job transitions, policies, programs, best practices, and collaborative efforts among institutions, industries, societies, and organizations related to the postdoctoral experience.

2️⃣ Skills Development: Foster skills development in areas such as leadership, communication, and team management, for prospective and current postdocs, and postdoc association (PDA) and postdoc office (PDO) leadership, to serve the postdoc community more effectively at their institutions and nationally.

3️⃣ Building Community: Ensure diversity of topics and perspectives through collaborative sessions that are inclusive of all disciplines, institutions, and postdoctoral scholars.

❓ Are you interested in how policies at universities and training sites affect postdocs? Do you want to collaborate with peers from across the country to create tools and advocacy strategies to improve the postdoc experience?

📢 APPLY TO BECOME A NPA ADVOCACY COMMITTEE LEADER VICE CHAIR!

The incoming vice chair will lead the institutional policy subcommittee, which engages with federal institutions and national policymakers to advocate for policies that support the success of postdocs. This subcommittee is currently focused on developing tools that help institutions implement the NPA's Recommended Postdoc Policies and Practices. This leadership role requires a three year commitment (2027-2030).

The NPA has extended the application deadline for two Resource Development Committee (ResDev) vice chair positions - one for a two-year term and another for a three-year term to begin in January 2027. Applications are now due by Friday, October 16.

ResDev, in collaboration with the other membership committees and the NPA staff, works to identify the resource needs of the NPA’s membership. Furthermore, in collaboration with the above groups, ResDev develops and/or disseminates tools and resources for all members, including webinars, website content, and publications for the NPA.
