💜 Today is , and we can’t think of a better way to mark it than by celebrating the people in these photos!

Nationwide, 93% of adults ages 50–80 say they regularly experience ageism, from “jokes” about getting older to assumptions that they can’t contribute. Research shows those everyday messages take a real toll on older adults’ health.

Our volunteers are proving those assumptions wrong. Age isn’t a limit. It’s experience, wisdom, and a lifetime of skills, and our AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers put all of it to work for our communities every single day.

Through our RSVP and Senior Companion Program, both funded by AmeriCorps Seniors:

📈 197 RSVP volunteers have served more than 10,000 hours so far this year, all older adults serving in rural Southern Colorado.
📈 Just 38 Senior Companions have served an incredible 39,875 hours, helping their peers stay independent, connected, and at home.

💰That’s nearly $2 million in value to our communities!

These volunteers aren’t “still” contributing. They’re leading! Older adults are one of our community’s greatest strengths.

Thank you to every one of our AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers. You’re proof that impact has no age limit! 💜

Every mile you run has the power to make a difference.

Each year, the Seattle Marathon Association proudly partners with organizations making a meaningful impact in our community and around the world.
This year, runners can run for a cause they care about while participating in the UW Medicine Seattle Marathon or Half Marathon.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska is recruiting for their team.

When a child faces a serious illness, an entire family is affected. Many families travel hundreds of miles and spend weeks or months away from home while their child receives treatment. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides families with a comfortable, stable, and free place to stay while their children receive care at Seattle Children’s or Alaska Native Medical Center.
