CREATIVE WAYS TO GIVE | Appreciated Securities

Giving Appreciated Securities is more than a financial decision—it’s a way to transform growth into impact. Investments that have grown over time can now become something deeply meaningful: safety for a survivor, stability for a family, dignity for an older adult, or hope for someone navigating an uncertain future.

By giving stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated, you not only make a tax-wise choice—you allow more of your generosity to go directly where it’s needed most. It’s a powerful way to turn what you’ve built into something that builds others—extending justice, mercy, and opportunity to those who need it most.

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give, this is your moment—reach out to us to start a conversation and turn your investment into lasting impact.

INSIDE OUR WORK | More Than Legal Services — Walking with Older Adult Clients

At JAMLAC, our work goes far beyond legal services. We believe in walking alongside people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives — connecting them not only with legal support, but also with compassion, dignity, and community resources.

Recently, one of JAMLAC's older adult immigration clients finally received her passport from El Salvador after waiting over 30 years. For many people, obtaining a passport may seem simple. But for vulnerable older adults facing poverty, health challenges, language barriers, transportation issues, and years of instability, this process can become overwhelming and a difficult experience.

This moment was only possible through patience, advocacy, and collaboration with the Salvadoran Consulate — but also because of the holistic approach JAMLAC takes in serving our clients. Aide Salazar Zetina, JAMLAC’s Resources & Partnership Liaison, played a vital role throughout the process. Beyond connecting the client to services, Aide consistently showed up with compassion and care...READ MORE https://jamlac.org/inside-our-work-more-than-legal-services-walking-alongside-our-clients/

JUNE IS ADULT PROTECTION AWARENESS MONTH!

At JAMLAC, Adult Protection Awareness Month is a meaningful reminder of the importance of protecting the dignity, safety, and rights of older adults in our community.

One of the special moments earlier this year was when, Elizabeth Davidson, Director and Attorney of JAMLAC’s Older Adult Law Program, and Nayeli Torreblanca, the program’s Intake Coordinator, attended a unique and inspiring workshop where high school students stepped into the role of teachers to help older adults better understand and use technology.

What they witnessed was more than a lesson in computers — it was a beautiful moment of connection across generations. With patience and enthusiasm, students guided older adults through everyday digital tools, helping build confidence, independence, and community.

The experience reflected something we see every day at JAMLAC...READ MORE https://jamlac.org/june-is-adult-protection-awareness-month-here-in-colorado/
