Today, Memorial Day, the Rescue will be open from 9am to 12 pm only!

Please follow these instructions! I will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, at 9 am.

“Hello, you have reached WildRescue’s after hours message. Please let me know what city you are in.
If you have an injured or orphaned wild baby, please put it in a size appropriate box lined with a clean T-shirt half on and half off a heating pad set on low in a bathroom that you are not using for overnight. Do not attempt to feed and I will respond to your text in the morning!”

We are seeing more and more Wildlife stuck on these horrific glue traps. Yesterday I removed a Hummingbird and several wrens from them. For some of us it’s almost a daily occurrence now. I am sharing one of the most wonderful Wildlife centers for avians - Carolina Waterfowl’s video on how to safely remove an animal from a glue trap.

I would rather you know how to do this then not. Please stop using oil. Just the stress can kill the little birds and lizards and Cottontails and everything else that gets stuck on these horrible things. Please watch the video and have a little can of cornstarch nearby just for events like this.

There is always injury to an animal that’s been on a glue trap. Either feathers are missing or skin is ripped and eyes are often affected because they go face down into that muck. So whatever you do, do not let it go. Contact your local rehabilitator who is trained and has the expertise to do what they need to do. If you let an animal go after this kind of trauma, the likelihood of its survival is slim.

Ban glue traps.

I am SO feeling the ♥️♥️♥️! Thank you to everyone who shopped for this little ( well not so little anymore 😂) local wildlife center!! These supplies are vital. With the cost of everything going sky high, everything you can do will help me keep money aside for medical supplies and other seriously important stuff. These days, people aren’t leaving donations (lots of reasons), so please help me help them by visiting the wish list every so often and ordering whatever for us! You can always text me and ask me if there’s a really important need and I promised to raise my hand also! All of the furred and feathered thank you ♥️🦡🦫🪶🦆🐦‍⬛🐰

Finally! I got up at five this morning to get this list put together! These are all items from high priority to send what you can when you can! It is high baby season right now and it has been raining babies! Everything from window strike, migrating birds to hummingbirds to a plethora of pigeons and songbirds, more opossums than I’ve seen in all my years rehabbing, squirrels, and hundreds of Cottontails have come through since January 15 and it is right now high baby season! So these are the vital items that we use daily here and if you can possibly help with the expense that would be phenomenal. I’ve already spent well over $5000 since the beginning of this season on all kinds of supplies including medical. Help me help them and if you would rather you can always send me a Venmo or a PayPal or however, you would like to assist! Heck, we even need Kleenex! i’ll put the link for our formula for our mammals down below because we don’t order it in bulk from Amazon. Thank you for whatever you can do!

Good morning! Here’s a quick little video for all of the people that brought me nestling mourning Doves, white wings, and one Inca! Everybody’s doing great and what you can’t see is that there’s about five babies under that white wing Dove’s wings all settled in nice and warm. And remember, of course that’s an entirely heated surface so everybody stays warm!

Calling out these three people right here and right now. You have to hold a permit from the state of Texas, Texas Parks and Wildlife, in order to hold or rehabilitate wild animals. You have to hold a federal permit in order to rehabilitate avians of any kind.

These people are not permitted and they have caused immeasurable deep and fatal damage to many animals.

My game wardens have already been apprised as has animal Services. If I catch any of you referring Wildlife to any of these people, you will be complicit and you will be fined. Do we understand each other?
