We are thrilled to announce a ground-breaking milestone for veteran health in our region!

In a powerful joint effort, Mesa County Public Health, Sovereign Roots Veteran Retreat Center and KBH Center, have officially been awarded the prestigious Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Su***de Prevention Grant! 🎗️

Together, this partnership will establish the FIRST-EVER Veteran Tri-County Stabilization Hub—a dedicated, community-rooted initiative serving veterans across Mesa, Delta, and Montrose counties.

What This Means for Our Community:

Life after service comes with unique challenges, and no veteran on the Western Slope should ever have to face them alone.

This grant enables us to:
🟢 Expand low-stigma, accessible mental health & peer support resources.
🟢 Provide targeted su***de prevention and crisis stabilization programs.
🟢 Connect veterans and their families with life-changing community, healthcare, and peer support networks, meeting veterans right where they are.

By combining public health infrastructure, clinical care, and peer-led veteran outreach, we are building a safety net that honors service and saves lives.

🛡️ Supporting Our Local Heroes at the Sheriff's Office 🛡️

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, KBH Center is proud to partner with the Delta County Sheriff's Office to enhance officer wellness. Last week (May 19–20), we coordinated with Quinn Archibeque for Delta County Sheriff and a long-time partner of ours from Chicago, Chief Kent Williams of Breachpoint Consulting, who conducted a specialized 16-hour behavioral health training for the department.

This initiative, supported by the POMH Grant Program through DOLA, also provides follow-up sessions for deputies and their families. We are honored to provide these vital resources to those who protect and serve Delta County every day.
