🌈📚 A Brighter Start to the Holidays is coming! We're bringing 3 free book fairs to local tree lightings, with over 1,000 books at each stop for local families to take home at no cost.

🎄Aston Township’s Christmas Tree Lighting: Friday, December 4th
🎄Brookhaven Borough’s Tree Lighting: Sunday, December 6th
🎄Edgmont Township, Delaware County, PA’s Tree Lighting: Friday, December 11th

Expect holiday cheer, a few fun surprises, and your child's next favorite books. Times and details will be posted as we get closer.

🌈📚This morning we stopped by the Boys and Girls Club at Rosehill Community Center to drop off over 400 books to be distributed to the children who participate with their program. We are so grateful for their great work with local children, and are thrilled to help build their home libraries!

🌈📚 Thank you to Delco Helping Hands for having us at your Halloween Hangout tonight! Our free book fair put hundreds of books into the hands of local kids, and it was great to share the love of reading with them and their grownups.

A huge thank you to BookSmiles for generously donating 24 boxes of books! These will support our plans for this Halloween and Christmas season, putting so many stories into kids' hands in our community. We are so grateful for your support and partnership.

We had a great time yesterday at the Delco Inclusive Dance and gave away hundreds of books to kids and families. Everyone was welcome, everyone was having fun, and every child went home with as many books as they wanted. Thank you to the Upper Chichester Township Police Department for hosting!

🌈📚 We had an amazing time at Brookhaven Family Day! More than 900 books went home with local families, helping build home libraries at no cost.

Today is Dolly Parton Day, and if you've heard of her Imagination Library, you know why. It's mailed free books to kids nationwide for years, and it's genuinely one of the best literacy programs out there.

Here's the thing: it's not available in Delaware County yet.

That gap is part of why Delco Books for a Brighter Start exists. Over the past year, local families have picked out more than 16,000 free children's books from us at farmers markets, school book fairs, and community events, no cost, no strings attached.

If you want to support the Imagination Library today, we'll drop their Give Like Dolly Day link below, they deserve it. And if you want your donation to stay local and go straight to Delco County kids, that's exactly what we do.

Every dollar today helps keep books in the hands of kids who might not otherwise have them.

🌈📚 We are just one week away from Brookhaven Family Day!

We’ll be there with over 1,000 children’s books, available to attending families at no cost. Feel free to come by, say hello to our amazing volunteers, and take home a stack of books that your child will love.

Brookhaven Family Day is September 26th from noon until 4 PM. We can’t wait to see you!

🌈📚 Want to help us get more free books into the hands of local children?

We are looking for people who are interested in volunteering with us at upcoming book distributions and community events!

There are a lot of ways to help. You might help families find books, set up or break down our displays, organize and move books, transport supplies, take photographs, help with fundraising, or contribute other skills you may have.

You do not need to have volunteered with us before, and you don't need to commit to every event. We're building a list of people who are interested in helping when opportunities come up.
