Delco Books for a Brighter Start

Today, every student at Main Street Elementary School - CUSD got to take home at least five free books, chosen by them, at no cost to their family.

More than 3,000 books were available to browse, and the energy in that gym was something special.

This wouldn’t have been possible without an incredible group of partners: Rep. Leanne Krueger’s office, BookSmiles, our local library system, and every person who donated books through our community book drives. Thank you to the school’s administration, teachers, and staff for opening your doors and welcoming us so warmly.

We had a blast. More to come. 📚

Somewhere over the rainbow, a lucky reader is about to discover an entire library of adventure. 🌈📚

At our next book distribution this Friday, one lucky child will receive a complete 15 book set of L. Frank Baum’s Oz series.

From the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and far beyond, these timeless stories are ready to inspire a new generation of readers.

We’re prepping for our next free book distribution event. It’s always exciting getting everything ready for the kids and thinking about the books they’ll be able to choose from.

We’ve packed and prepared over 1,500 books so far, with more still coming in. Looking forward to another great day of free books and reading.

There's still time to donate to our Children's Book Drive in partnership with Delco Books for a Brighter Start!

Throughout the month of May, we are collecting new and gently used children's books to help put books directly into the hands of students who need them most.

📚📚📚 I had the opportunity to stop by Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon’s Office Hours yesterday.

It was great to connect directly, share a quick update on our work getting books into the hands of children at no cost to local families, and briefly highlight the importance of strong, well-supported programs like Head Start.

I also want to thank her for donating a copy of Vote for Our Future. We’ll be proud to put it into the hands of a child who needs it.

I’m very grateful for the time and for the opportunity to stay engaged locally.

Stopped by the Media Tot Lot today and noticed the free little library was empty.

We filled it back up.

Now it’s stocked with books for kids in the community to take, share, and enjoy.

📚📚📚 Today was a great day at the Middletown Township Community Day.

We gave away hundreds of children’s books at no cost to local families, and it was incredible to see so many kids excited to pick out stories of their own.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by and helped make it such a positive experience.

📚📚📚Next Saturday is Middletown Township Community Day!

We’ll be attending with over 1,000 children’s books, ready to find new homes at no cost to local families. It should be an incredibly fun day.

We’ll also be handing out our brand-new bookmarks! Our hope is that they help encourage kids and their adults to read at home.
