FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Delaware County Black Caucus Hosts Men’s Health Event with a Touch of Jazz

In honor of National Men’s Health Awareness Month, the Delaware County Black Caucus (DCBC) Health and Welfare Committee is proud to present a special community health and wellness event: “Brother to Brother: Men’s Health with a Touch of Jazz.” This evening of health, music, and meaningful conversation will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Laborers’ Local 413, 222 Penn Street, Chester, PA 19013.

Designed to create a welcoming and safe space for men to engage in health discussions, the event will feature free health screenings, wellness resources, interactive conversations with healthcare professionals, printed materials, and more — all set to the backdrop of live jazz and great food.

“Men often delay or avoid addressing their health. This event is about changing that by bringing care and conversation into a relaxed and culturally relevant setting,” said Dr. Angela Gilbert,DCBC Convener and Co-Chair of the Health and Welfare Committee.

The Delaware County Black Caucus is partnering with Laborers’ Local 413, The Foundation for Delaware County, local physicians, and health organizations to deliver comprehensive and accessible health information directly to the community.

Main Line Health, Delaware County Health Department, Health Educated, and other local providers will be present to offer resources, answer questions, and connect attendees with ongoing care. This initiative is part of DCBC’s broader commitment to closing health gaps and promoting wellness in underserved communities.

This event is free and open to the public, with a special focus on Black men’s health — though all are welcome to attend.
