First Friday Fish Fry is today starting at 12 Noon. Today's menu includes deep-fried whiting; SC64 turkey leg comes with side of cabbage (meatless) and cornbread; mac & cheese, candied yams, collards with smoked turkey; bread pudding; cornbread; cake and sweet tea. Come early for best selections. Service and seating first come first serve; dine-in in take-out containers today and always on First Friday Fish Fry!

Our Friends at Fort DuPont have a terrific event planned for September 19; this isn't just for history buffs. There will be a Moon Bounce and other activities for the kids, so bring them along! Pack a picnic and bring a blanket. You'll enjoy what we have planned for you on the beautiful grounds of Fort DuPont.

Summer may be winding down, but there's still plenty to look forward to.

As the weather begins to cool, Fort DuPont continues to offer opportunities to explore history, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with the community.

The end of summer often means returning to school, work and more structured daily routines.

For someone who is grieving, those familiar patterns can bring mixed emotions. A routine may highlight the absence of someone who was once part of it. At the same time, greater structure can provide stability, purpose and a sense of predictability during an uncertain time.

On National Grief Awareness Day, we recognize that grief does not follow a timeline. Be patient as you settle into a new season. Keep the routines that provide comfort, adjust those that feel difficult and allow space for the memories and emotions that arise.

A new season can bring new reminders, but it can also bring new sources of support.
