Two pregnant mares, Sunshine Bonanza and Moonlight Bonanza, were euthanized shortly after arriving in Grenada.
We are calling for transparency and a full review of the procedures and decisions that led to this outcome, including how import protocols and veterinary assessments were handled.
This is about ensuring fair, clear, and consistent processes for all imported animals in the future.

Demand transparency for Sunshine Bonanza and Moonlight Bonanza

โ€‹Today, June 7th, we join a global movement in observing National Animal Rights Day.
โ€‹At the Magnolia Advocacy & Charity Foundation Inc., we believe that animal welfare is not a peripheral concern it is a cornerstone of a compassionate and sustainable society. Whether it is our ongoing advocacy for humane treatment standards, our work regarding equine welfare, or our vision, every action we take is rooted in the belief that animals deserve dignity, protection, and respect.

โ€‹Today is a day to:

โ€‹Mourn the lives lost to neglect and cruelty.
โ€‹Raise Awareness for the critical need to integrate animal welfare into our national disaster preparedness and environmental systems.

โ€‹Celebrate the vision of a future where human-animal interactions are defined by empathy and ethics.

โ€‹As we continue to push for progress from the halls of advocacy to the streets remember the animals cannot speak for themselves.
We must be their voice.๐ŸพโœŠ๐Ÿฝ

Celebrating National Black Bear Day!

โ€‹Today, June 6, 2026, we celebrate National Black Bear Day a time to appreciate one of North Americaโ€™s most resilient and iconic species.

โ€‹Black bears (Ursus americanus) are incredible creatures that play a vital role in maintaining healthy forest ecosystems. As opportunistic omnivores, they act as seed dispersers, helping to regenerate plant life across their vast habitats.

From their intelligence and adaptability to the awe-inspiring sight of a mother with her cubs, black bears are a symbol of the wild beauty found in our great outdoors.

โ€‹Whether you're out hiking in bear country or learning about them from home, today is the perfect opportunity to learn about bear safety, conservation efforts, and how we can coexist with these magnificent animals.

โ€‹How to Celebrate Responsibly
โ€‹Practice Bear Awareness: If you are enjoying the trails today, remember to store food securely, pack out all trash, and keep a respectful distance.

โ€‹Support Conservation: Learn more about organizations dedicated to habitat protection and coexistence programs.

โ€‹Educate & Share: Spread the word about the importance of protecting the wild spaces these bears call home!

Save this post if your catโ€™s spay/neuter appointment is coming up! Hereโ€™s more info on each tip โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿ’Š Pain meds and prescribed medications help keep your cat comfortable and support healing.

๐Ÿ’งAfter surgery, some cats feel nauseous. Small amounts of food (wet food is best!) and plenty of water are easy on their stomach.

โ›บ A smaller area helps prevent zoomies and jumping. You can keep them in a large closet or small bedroom, or if theyโ€™re jumping too much, try a mesh playpen!

๐Ÿ‘• Some cats tolerate a recovery suit better than a cone, while others prefer a soft cone over the dreaded cone of shame.

Many have been asking why the Grenada SPCA Animal Shelter has remained silent regarding the tragic situation involving the horses at the port of entry.

It is important to understand that the GSPCA is a fantastic service-oriented organization they are a shelter and clinic, not a government regulatory body.

They operate with limited resources and are constrained by a mandate focused on daily, local animal welfare. They simply do not have the legal authority to challenge ministerial policy or oversee national veterinary protocols.
โ€‹This is exactly why the Magnolia Advocacy & Charity Foundation Inc. exists.

โ€‹We are not here to duplicate the work of local shelters; we are here to fill the systemic void. While others focus on day-to-day care, we are focused on:

โ€‹Holding Authorities Accountable: We are actively conducting formal administrative inquiries into veterinary protocols and the chain of command at our ports of entry.

โ€‹Driving Systemic Reform: We don't just react to crises; we advocate for changes to the policies and laws that govern how animals are treated by the state.

โ€‹Professional Advocacy: We bring strategic pressure to ensure that animal welfare is no longer treated as a footnote in our national governance.

โ€‹The silence you hear from others is a limitation of their mandate. The noise we are making is a result of our mission. We are not just watching from the sidelines; we are in the room pushing for the structural change this country desperately needs.
