Peter PTA is a volunteer partnership between parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers and administrators who strive to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering our community to advocate for all children. Peter Catholic School PTA (formerly known as PAC) is working hard to keep our school community informed and up to date on the latest events, activities and fundraisers. Feel free to "Like" or "Share" with others. Post questions...if we don't know the answer, we will find out for you. Make suggestions...we are always looking for help and fresh ideas. Your PTA Board is staffed with fellow parent volunteers and we are here to help you and your family have the best Catholic school experience possible. Kim Harrison

Happy All Saints Day! Here is Fr. Peter’s weekly message ✝️

Happy Halloween!! 🎃 👻🐈‍⬛

“Halloween" comes from All Hallow's Eve, which is the vigil of All Saints Day. The word "hallow" means holy (like in the Our Father where we pray "Hallowed be thy name"). Halloween is on October 31st because All Saints Day is November 1st. All Souls Day is November 2nd. Together these 3 days make up "Days of the Dead" also called Allhallowtide, Hallowtide or Hallowmas (Holy+mass).

Halloween is a Catholic holiday (holy day) & does not have origins in paganism or the occult. This is a common misconception and long standing anti-Catholic propaganda. The traditions we know today have come from French, Irish & English immigrants who brought their various customs to America. The French dressed up for Halloween, the Irish carved Jack O lanterns from turnips & the English went from door to door begging for "soul cakes" while promising to pray for the souls of the departed.

However you choose to celebrate with your family and friends this year, have fun & be safe! 🎃👻🐈‍⬛
