🌾 When the pantry shelves go bare, our community steps up. 🌾
Across the nation, millions of families who rely on SNAP (food stamps) are facing reduced or delayed benefits this month due to the ongoing federal shutdown. Many will receive only half their usual amount — and much later than expected. For families already walking a fine line between “making it” and “missing meals,” that delay is devastating.
At The Sands Academy of Central Florida, Inc., we refuse to let our students or their families go hungry. 💛
That’s why we’re building a Community Food Pantry right here on campus — a “don’t ask, don’t tell” space where families can quietly get what they need, no questions asked and no judgment given. Because dignity and compassion should never come with conditions.
🛒 We’re now accepting donations of:
• Non-perishable foods (canned goods, pasta, rice, peanut butter, cereal)
• Snacks and lunch items for kids
• Toiletries and hygiene items
• Grocery store gift cards
Every can, box, and dollar helps keep a child nourished — body, heart, and mind.
📍 Donations can be dropped off at 331 W. New York Ave., DeLand, FL
📦 Or message us to coordinate a pickup.
Together, we can remind our community that no one stands alone.
Even small acts of kindness ripple farther than we think. 💫
