Our September workshop kicked off with a 9-Patch party learning how to take a basic block and dress it up or keep it casual. Thank you Marcy for your teaching and inspiration. The workshop ended with more beautiful show-n-tells, enjoy 😊

What a fun workshop yesterday! It was all about the hand work. We had 5 stations that we rotated through…. English Paper Piecing with Tammy, Hand Quilting with Sharon, Hand Appliqué with Linda K, Hand Turned Binding with Sheri, and Big Stitch Quilting with Marcy. It always good to have a project when you can’t have your sewing machine with you 😃

Monday was our Disappearing 16-patch workshop! What a great time we had 😊. Thank you to Marcy for teaching us and for working with us on our “webbing” technique. I got pictures of most everyone and sprinkled in some show-in-tells as well.

The 4th of July parade in DeFuniak this past Saturday was hot but the meaning of the day was worth it! Our Quilts of Honor ladies represented our area and our guild with beautiful quilts. Thank you to AJ’s for the trolley and to everyone that made this event happen.

Monday was our June business meeting. Always a great time of fellowship and great show-n-tell. We gave Linda a presidents quilt for her years of leadership, and voted in our new board. Thank you to our previous board for all you did to help grow our guild and its vision for the future. We also went over our projects for the upcoming 4H classes.

Today we take the time to celebrate a long time member of our guild. Eileen Vendetti passed away a couple of days ago. She was a retired Walmart employee who worked many years along side Margie (another member we lost last year) in the Walmart fabric & crafts dept. She was also active in her church. Eileen had a heart for our Sunshine committee, and wrote and mailed many, many cards for fellow members and their families. She also volunteered with our 4H sewing classes and guild events. We have missed her over this past year as her health declined. Enjoy these pictures we found. ❤️
