Our middle school students took their learning outside as we explored the different types of tree bark found right here on our campus!

Students had the opportunity to examine different trees, observe the unique textures and patterns of their bark, and create shaded samples to capture what they saw. It was a hands-on way to see that no two trees are exactly alike!

As we explored, we also talked about how God created trees to be both different and the same—just like He created people. Each tree has its own characteristics, textures, shapes, and features, yet each one has a purpose in God’s creation.

What a beautiful reminder that God made each of us uniquely and wonderfully, while giving us many things that connect us to one another.

Science isn’t just about learning facts—it’s also an opportunity to look at God’s creation and recognize His creativity, purpose, and design!

Why do we love elementary chapel so much?

Elementary Chapel is about so much more than gathering together once a week. It’s a time for our students to learn the “why” behind our faith and build a strong foundation for their walk with Christ.

We talk about questions like:

🇺🇸 Why do we pledge to the American flag?
✝️ Why do we pledge to the Christian flag?
📖 Why do we pledge allegiance to the Bible?
📚 Why do we read God’s Word?
🎶 Why do we worship the Lord through song?
🙏 Why do we pray?

The last couple of weeks , our lessons have been centered around teaching them that we don’t simply do these things because it’s what we’ve always done. There is purpose behind every one of them.

We want them to know God’s Word, understand what they believe, and learn how to honor and worship the Lord with genuine hearts. Our prayer is that the truths they learn in Chapel will take root in their hearts and guide them not only in the classroom, but throughout their lives.

We aren’t just teaching children what we do—we’re teaching them WHY we do it and pointing them to the One who makes it all matter. ❤️

Angelo, Gabriel, and Mason competed in the Labor Day Classic Show in Molino, Florida. They each showed their chickens and got to experience showmanship, breeding standards, and aspects of agribusiness. This experience helps them to gain confidence when showing their animals. We look forward to seeing them compete in the upcoming show at the Walton County Fair in October!

We want to thank Mr. Ari Sewell for coaching PRCA students in forestry. Mr. Sewell works for the Florida Forest Service in Walton County, and this will be his third year sharing his knowledge with our students. Forestry has been one of the highlights of the FFA program thanks to the generous time and effort Mr. Sewell has volunteered.

In our first session, Mr. Sewell taught the students how to properly use a compass and a Biltmore stick, which is used to measure the usable volume of trees. Today's session introduced general forestry knowledge alongside common tree diseases and disorders. We have more sessions planned and cannot wait for these students to showcase their knowledge at the Forestry event on October 8th!

Today at PRCA, students participated in FFA officer interviews. Students had to prepare a resume, give a short speech about why they should get the position, and were asked questions about the history of FFA. This gave the students an opportunity to expand their understanding of employment skills, while getting to compete for the position where they want to serve the FFA chapter.

Nicole Crawson, UF extension agent, and Amanda Masholie, CED/AG agent, volunteered to be the panel of interviewers. Their experience helps guide these students to develop a passion for agriculture while building life skills. We greatly appreciate their work!

The 26/27 FFA officers will be announced during first period tomorrow.

This week our elementary students attended their very first music class! They had the opportunity to explore music, learn new concepts, and experience the joy of making music together. We are so excited to watch their confidence and creativity grow as they discover the many ways music can inspire, encourage, and bring us together!

What a wonderful first week at Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy! We have loved seeing our students back in the hallways, classrooms, and chapel as we begin another year together.

From those sweet first day of school pictures 📸, to getting reacquainted with friends, participating in chapel, worshipping together, and settling into new routines, this week has been full of excitement and memories!

Our students have also jumped right into academic learning—working hard, asking questions, exploring new subjects, and discovering all that this school year has in store. 📚✏️

Most importantly, we are thankful for the opportunity to learn, grow, serve, and keep Christ at the center of all we do. ❤️

We are so excited for what God has planned for this school year! Here’s to a wonderful year at PRCA! 🎓✨

🦁 𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗣.𝗥.𝗖.𝗔.! 💙💛

Today, the halls of Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy are filled with something extra special: new faces, new classrooms, new teachers, new friendships, and so much excitement for all that God has in store!

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are celebrating an incredible season of growth at P.R.C.A. For the first time, our Academy family begins the year serving students from 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲!

With that growth comes an amazing team of new and returning faculty and staff who are ready to pour into our students academically, personally, and spiritually. Each new student, teacher, classroom, and opportunity is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the doors He continues to open for our school.

But while P.R.C.A. is growing, our purpose remains the same: to partner with families as students grow in 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻. — Luke 2:52

We are so thankful for every family who has chosen to be part of this journey, every teacher and staff member who has answered the call to serve, and every person who has prayed for and supported the continued growth of Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy.

Here’s to a year of learning, friendships, discovery, faith, and plenty of Lion pride! 🦁

May this be a year in which our students don’t simply grow older or advance a grade but grow in knowledge, character, confidence, and their relationship with Christ.
