PawPrint Ministries PPM Comfort Dogs serve our communities daily by visiting nursing homes, hospitals, veterans, cancer c

PawPrint Ministries is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honor God in all we do and bring comfort to our community and beyond. Our goal is to achieve this by being available to those in need of love, warmth, and compassion. This goal will be accomplished by sharing registered therapy/comfort dogs with individuals in health care facilities, schools and senior homes, and deployment to areas in need during times of crisis.

Our comfort dogs are often put in situations that require high levels of trust between the handler and the dog. Overstimulation and the fear of the new environments can lead to stress. We work hard in our training sessions to expose our dogs to a variety of situations to help them learn more about the world and build trust between the handler and dog.
⚓️
Our advanced training sessions today included a dock, a boat, sunny skies, and some hard working volunteers. Thank you to our friend Paula for allowing us to use your boat and dock for training. Developing that bond and trust in a controlled environment under the direction of our head trainer helps prepare our K9s on how to properly handle stressful situations. We are beaming with pride over the hard work our volunteers put in to ensure their pups are well prepared to serve in our community.

Come to TAILGATE at PawPrint Ministries on September 19th to meet many of our comfort dog teams and support our outreach!

We took a pause during training this morning to introduce Briggs to Charlie, one of PawPrint Ministries’ early trailblazers and our very first tiny PawPrint dog.

Charlie served alongside his mom, Stacey Hubbard, bringing comfort and smiles everywhere he went. He may have been little, but his personality was anything but. Charlie loved everyone! He was known for his cute little signature sneeze during training. 😂

Charlie passed away in 2016, but his paw prints are still very much a part of our story.

Now, all these years later, another little dog is stepping into a very big mission.

Briggs, meet Charlie. 💙
You have some tiny paws and a pretty wonderful legacy to follow.

🐾 Leaving a legacy one paw print at a time.

A special day for a very special PawPrint partner! 💙🐾

Today, our PawPrint crew had the privilege of joining Pam (Sampson’s Mom) and the Decatur Counseling Center for their ribbon cutting and celebrating this exciting new chapter.

Pam has supported PawPrint Ministries through the years, and we are so grateful for the way she continues to believe in the comfort, connection, and healing our dogs can bring to people in our community.

Congratulations to Pam and the entire Decatur Counseling Center team! 💙🐾

First official Decatur stop: Brinkotter Realtors!
💙🐾
Owner Tom Brinkotter has supported PawPrint Ministries from the very beginning, back when Jennifer was dreaming big about creating a nonprofit right here in Decatur.

Through the years, Brinkotter Realtors has continued to support our mission, our dogs, and the work we are doing throughout the community. Thank you Tom and Brinkoetter’s for supporting our mission.

🐾 Briggs is slowly making his way around town….his legs (and attention span) are short! We hope to see you soon!

Briggs took a pause from training to make an appearance on WCIA 3 News. His paws may be tiny but he's training for a BIG job!

Therapy dogs can make a difference in someone’s life. They can bring smiles to hospital patients or calm nerves on a stressful day at school. For the last 12 years, leaders at the Decatur-based non-profit PawPrint Ministries have had a front row seat to moments like that.

Briggs might be tiny but he’s already training for a big job! Thank WCIA for sharing our story. 💙🐾

Our days are filled with a repeat cycle of eating, sleeping, going outside and learning new words. We just had a little 5 minute training session followed by running free and exploring!
