Public Safety Internship Program Update 🚔
Our Public Safety Internship participants had another great hands-on learning experience with the Decatur Police Department!
Students had the opportunity to explore different tools and technology used in public safety, including a VR headset experience, drone demonstrations, and time with the E.R.T. team and K-9 unit. They also learned more about the training, teamwork, and responsibilities that go into keeping our community safe.
Experiences like this give students a closer look at the many career paths within public safety while helping them build confidence, leadership skills, and a better understanding of the work happening behind the scenes.
A big thank you to the Decatur Police Department for taking the time to teach, demonstrate, and connect with our students!

🚓 Public Safety Internship Program Update 🚓

Our students had the opportunity to visit the Decatur Police Department, tour the facility, and learn more about the important work DPD does each day to serve and protect our community.

From behind-the-scenes insight to conversations with public safety professionals, this visit gave our students a better understanding of the many roles, responsibilities, and career pathways within law enforcement.

We are excited to introduce our DCLI interns at Decatur Memorial Hospital:

These young ladies have jumped right in and are already doing an amazing job during their internship experience at DMH.

Over the next four weeks, they will gain real-world work experience, explore clinical career pathways, build essential employability skills, connect with professional mentors, and so much more.

We are proud of their hard work, curiosity, and commitment, and we are excited to watch them continue to learn, grow, and make the most of this incredible opportunity.

Our Residential CNA Program participants have had a busy and exciting first week.
They have jumped right into CNA classes, hands-on learning, grocery shopping, professional development, Family Dinner Friday, and everyday life skills that will support them far beyond the classroom.
It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow, their friendships build, and their commitment shine through. We are so proud of how they started this journey and can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring.

We are proud to highlight our partnership with Baby TALK Decatur Area Programs through our monthly Level Up Lunch sessions.
Over the past few months, these lunches have created space for young women to come together, connect, and have important conversations about confidence, goal-setting, planning for the future, and taking the next steps toward becoming the best version of themselves.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this work and to support programs that encourage growth, connection, and opportunity in our community.

CNAs are often the first to provide comfort, encouragement, and hands-on care to those who need it most. Their work changes lives and strengthens our communities.

At DCLI, we believe education creates opportunities and opens doors to impactful careers. We are proud to support students pursuing careers in healthcare and grateful for the CNAs who inspire the next generation of caregivers.

Our Residential CNA Cohort 1 participants moved in yesterday and wasted no time jumping right in with meal planning and grocery shopping! 🩺

Now they’re heading into their first day of class and officially beginning their CNA journey.

Here’s to an incredible 4 weeks ahead filled with growth, learning, hard work, and success. We are so proud of this group and can’t wait to cheer them on every step of the way!
