If you live in Macon County, IL, your child can join Lincoln, and hundreds of other children, in receiving a free book each month.

Each month, until his fifth birthday, Lincoln will receive an age-appropriate free book mailed directly to his home, and we’ll be right there with him. Lincoln’s reading journey will be chronicled in monthly photos.

Families must register in order to receive the books for their children. The program is funded by The Community Foundation of Macon County and United Way of Decatur & Mid-Illinois

Inspire A Love of Reading!

The Macon County Imagination Library is a free program for every child in Macon County, IL, until their 5th birthday!

There's A Hole in the Log is Lincoln's 12th free book.

If you live in Macon County, IL, your child can join Lincoln, and hundreds of other children, in receiving a free book each month.

Each month, until his fifth birthday, Lincoln will receive an age-appropriate free book mailed directly to his home, and we’ll be right there with him. Lincoln’s reading journey will be chronicled in monthly photos.

The most significant factor influencing a child's early education success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school.

Families must register in order to receive the books for their children. The program is funded by The Community Foundation of Macon County and United Way of Decatur & Mid-Illinois

Dolly Parton is among this year's Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy recipients.

In a statement regarding the award selection, Parton said, "Whether through my Imagination Library or giving to COVID-19 research, I try to support things that have a special meaning for me. I hope everyone can find something they’re passionate about supporting and do what they can to help make this world a better place."

“I’ve always believed that if you are in a position to help, you should help, and I truly hope that I can be an inspiration for others to lift up those around them,” Dolly Parton said.

It was an awesome morning with our friends at Brinkoetter Realtors, continuing their volunteering in the United Way’s Essential Services Lines of Effort.

Here are the dates and titles of books mailed for the month of May!

Group 1 is children born in 2022, group 2 is children born in 2021, and so on. If you are new to the program you will receive a welcome book, and if your child turns 5 this month you'll get a graduation book.
