On August 20, Team Volusia EDC welcomed the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and a Japanese Delegation to Volusia County, to explore partnerships with U.S. companies and establishments in our region.

Japan is the #1 foreign investor in the U.S., and their investment is especially active in aviation, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and technology -- all sectors in which Volusia County has strong geographic and strategic advantages.

Opening remarks by our Board Chair, Randy Dye, was followed by speakers from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona State College, Volusia County Economic Development department, SelectFlorida and our team, including Keith Norden, Frank Jones and Monty Fletcher.

Following the community overviews, the second half of the event featured 10 companies, located in either Japan or Volusia County, sharing a snapshot of their business, before engaging in several one-on-one break out sessions.

Team Volusia EDC is proud to be a convener of stakeholders regionally, nationally, and internationally, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with partners like JETRO, as our networking today helps build a more vibrant business community tomorrow and into the future!
