The PILOT CLUB OF THE HALIFAX AREA presented a BrainMinders™ program to students at the Monarch Academy in Daytona Beach on Friday, October 23rd.

Children were entertained with a BrainMinders Buddies™ puppet show teaching about injury prevention: “Play Safe, Play Smart”. The puppets also emphasized autism awareness, fire safety, and healthy eating habits. The children were AMAZING in providing answers and intuitive questions on how they can “protect their brains for life”!!

Pilots also played games of BRAIN-O, a bingo style game that is FUN as it provides tips on brain safety.

BrainMinders ™ is Pilot International’s signature program focused on traumatic brain injury and brain disorders. The project encompasses a public service campaign designed to promote brain awareness; prevention education programs for children and adults; workshop and speakers bureau materials; a partnership with Project Lifesaver, a tracking program; and support for brain-related programs.

The PILOT CLUB OF THE HALIFAX AREA is a non-profit service organization for the Volusia County area. PCHA focuses on the "ABCs" set forth by Pilot International: Advocating Leadership and Service in Youth and Young Adults -- Brain Safety and Health – Recognizing Care Givers in many forms.

MONARCH ACADEMY in Daytona Beach offers Autism Spectrum Disorder students in grades 1 - 12 with a full spectrum of opportunity both inside and outside the classroom. With a small staff to student ratio of 8 to 1, they enable the academic and social growth of all students. Monarch’s work study program provides a solid path to bridge the transition to life outside of formal education. The PILOT CLUB OF THE HALIFAX AREA had 10 members attend the FALL COUNCIL from October 16 – 18 in Kissimmee. All attendees were able to attend workshops and had many opportunities to raise money for our Pilot Scholarship House Foundation and other clubs through raffles and donations.

The theme of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” was reflected in many ways: Pilots and the students from the Pilot Scholarship Houses chose very stylist Pajama’s !! Skits were also performed by Pilots AND Students.

Days filled with FUN – Workshops – Friendship – Students from our Pilot Scholarship Houses – Fellowship -- More FUN !! Pilots from Pensacola to Miami attended the annual event.

The PILOT CLUB OF THE HALIFAX AREA (PCHA) selected their Pilot International Club Ambassador for 2026-2027: Tish Gressang.

The PCHA Ambassador is recognized because she:
• Is active in their role within the club,
• Promotes and supports Pilot International and its activities,
• Is active in projects that address Pilot International’s focuses of brain safety and health and supporting those who care for others, and
• Is faithful in attending meetings and giving generously of their time to assist with service projects and fundraising activities.
