Swing by Heritage Park on April 18th between 10AM and 1PM to pick up garbage bags, reflective vests, and gloves before you head out to clean up our community! Filled garbage bags can be dropped back off at the park for disposal. Students can earn SSL hours for their participation!

Darnestown residents and parents - this is an opportunity for you to write directly to the MCPS School Superintendent and School Board Members to express your opinion re: DES's articulation path in the current Superintendent's Recommendation for the School Boundary changes. This will be voted on by the BoE next week, on March 26th. Based on the DCA's recent survey (see link for details) and our consensus at the Town Hall last week, this effort is to support the 72% in favor of DES students moving to a high school with students in their middle school that come from other elementary schools.

Based on our detailed analysis, we believe there are viable options to do this and they are included in the draft letter.

As part of the MCPS School Boundary Study, the Superintendent's Recommendation has Darnestown Elementary School (DES) articulating to Kingsview Middle School and then Poolesville High School. The final vote by the MCPS Board of Education is planned for 3/26.
