Montgomery County CERT Montgomery County, MD CERT, managed by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service, is prepared to offer assistance & educational services to our community

The Montgomery County, Maryland Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is managed by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. Montgomery County CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills - fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. They are prepared to provide critical assistance to others in their neighborhoods or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. Additionally, Montgomery County CERT members perform safety education and emergency preparedness projects in the community.

At the monthly meeting, Assistant Chief EMIHS Ben Kaufman of MCFRS came in to tell us about the NEAR ( National Emergency AED Registry) https://www.near-registry.org/and PulsePoint https://www.pulsepoint.org/apps and how they serve the Fire Rescue Services. He also gave us statistical information about the number and type of EMS calls the county responds to.

We also celebrated the birthday of one of the officers on her birthday.
