Interested in acting in a Gujarati hilarious comedy Natak/Play? A great opportunity to exhibit hidden actor in you! After staging several shows of well received popular Nataks ‘Parnu To Ene J Parnu!’ (‘પરણું તો એને જ પરણું!) and ‘Khel Khel Ma Agan Khel’ (ખેલ ખેલ માં અગન ખેલ’), Natya Gurjari, an established Gujarati Theater group in the Washington Metro area, is launching its third production, a rib-tickling hilarious comedy Play! The inaugural/opening two shows of this Play will be staged in May 2022. We are seeking actors for these age groups: One female (20-30 years age), one female (30-45 years age) and one male (30-45 years age). Previous experience of acting in theater/films is desirable but not necessary. Preliminary rehearsals will commence in second/third week of November. The Natya Gurjari is a non-profit organization founded with explicit objective of sustaining and enhancing our rich cultural heritage in performing arts and literature via Gujarati theater. The Gujarati Plays are staged using local resources and with the assistance of abundant talent available in our community. Many of our community members have passion for acting and it is our desire to provide a platform to nourish and showcase their talent by staging quality Plays. Be proud of your linguistic and literary heritage, trust your innate talents, express an artist in you and make a difference in enriching cultural tapestry of our community! The Natya Gurjari is a volunteer organization of theater artists/enthusiasts and no membership is required. We are honored and privileged that Gujarati Samaj of Metropolitan Washington and Shrinathdham, DC Metro sponsored the staging of our past two Plays. We are deeply grateful to everyone associated with these organizations for encouragement and support. We are also indebted to our loyal audience for enthusiastic encouragement, support and continued patronage.
