Mercy Street Dallas

Mercy Street Dallas Sports. Mentoring. Leadership. www.mercystreetdallas.org We strive every day to empower the next generation of Christian leaders to transform their communities.

Believing youth are the greatest asset for the future of their community and transformation best occurs in the context of relationship, we value people over programs to see lasting change realized. Everything we do exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian Mentorship

We believe true and lasting change will be brought about by the residents, pa

rticularly the children, of this community. Mercy Street's hope is to raise a new generation of leaders from the community to be the change agents of tomorrow. Sometimes an infusion of hope and help from the outside is all that is needed to make a monumental difference. That is where our mentors, coaches, and volunteers come in. They are tasked with being an encourager, friend, and advisor to the children over the course of many years. Mercy Street also seeks to be "incarnational" in our ministry efforts, meaning we relocate to the place where we minister in order to put flesh on the redemptive message of the gospel. Whether a physical relocation (like most of our staff) or a mental relocation (like most of our mentors), we invite everyone to take on the cares and concerns of the community as their own. We believe this is part of “loving our neighbors as ourselves.”

At Mercy Street, we prayerfully work together to push back against the thorns and thistles that have taken root in West Dallas so that God's Kingdom reign might be evident. Urban decay points to spiritual decay. As Christians it is our delightful responsibility to enter into the dark places of the world and let the light of Christ shine. Light always repels darkness. Join the movement and shine the light of Christ in our community.

Today’s Mercy Street On Wheels Chapel led us to Park Cities Presbyterian Church, where Pastor Mark Davis shared a timely and beautiful message on what it truly means to thrive.

“I am like a green olive tree in the house of God.” Psalm 52:8

His words reminded us that thriving is rooted in Christ, strengthened by faithfulness, and nurtured in community. We are grateful for Pastor Davis and the encouragement he brought to our Mercy Street team! We definitely enjoyed our time today at PCPC!

💙 Mentoring Match Updates 💙 Meet Samuel & Chase and Naomi & LaChrisha . These two new 1-on-1 matches are already building meaningful connections rooted in joy, encouragement, and shared interests.

We first met Samuel and Naomi and their families at Summer Camp last year, and it has been such a gift to watch these relationships come full circle. Samuel and Chase connected through their love for being outside and playing sports, while Naomi and LaChrisha quickly bonded over video games and quality time together. 🎮⚽

Samuel and Naomi were especially excited because their brothers were matched with mentors earlier this school year — and now it was finally their turn! Their younger siblings are already looking forward to the day they’ll be old enough for a mentor too.

At Mercy Street, we believe mentoring is about mutual transformation through Christ-centered relationships, and we are so grateful for volunteers like Chase and LaChrisha who faithfully step into the lives of our youth with love and consistency.

Please take a moment today to pray over these new matches — for trust, joy, growth, and the Lord’s guidance every step of the way. 🙏

This year’s PASSPORT TO FUN Summer Camp at Mercy Street is in full swing for our K through 5th grade students, and this week was packed with fun, learning, and discovery!

Over 100 students enjoyed a culinary class, archery, basketball, volleyball, dance, and more this week, and we are super excited about exposing them to more activities over the next 8 weeks.

We love seeing children try new things, build confidence, and experience joy in a safe, Christ-centered community. 😃

The Summer 2026 Leadership Institute is underway! This week, our high school students served right here at Mercy Street by helping beautify our garden spaces and learning how to take soil samples in our new raised garden area with support from .

Before heading off to Stoney Creek Camp, they practiced leadership through service, stewardship, and care for the place God has entrusted to us. 🌱

Over the weekend, we celebrated a milestone that deserves to be honored in a big way. 🎓 Congratulations to Mercy Street mentee, Edgar, on graduating from high school today and becoming the first in his family to do so. This is a huge accomplishment, one marked by perseverance, growth, hard work, and the faithfulness of God over his life.

We also celebrate the commitment, love, and steady presence of his mentor, Brian Roy, our Director of Sports Operations. Brian’s investment in Edgar reflects the heart of mentoring at Mercy Street: showing up, walking alongside, speaking life, sharing Jesus, and believing in the purpose God has placed in each young person.

Mentoring is not a program on a calendar. It is a mutually transforming relationship where lives are shaped, faith is strengthened, and the future of generations are changed!

Edgar, we are so proud of you. Your Mercy Street family is cheering you on as you step into this next chapter with courage, confidence, and purpose. God is not finished writing your story!

😄 Yesterday’s Mercy Street Staff Retreat was a meaningful reminder that we do more than work together—we walk together, worship together, encourage one another, and stay united in a shared mission to serve West and South Dallas children and families with excellence and love.

We are deeply grateful to a generous donor who made this day of rejuvenation, connection, laughter, and reflection possible by sowing back into the team that pours so much into others every day. What a gift it was to pause, recharge, and celebrate the people behind the mission.

We left refreshed, encouraged, and even more committed to the work ahead!
