Equipping students for success through the power of reading - join us as we change lives through literacy!

Readers 2 Leaders' mission is to develop and grow the reading skills of underserved Dallas children ages 3-12 so that they succeed in school and graduate prepared to live productive lives. R2L works children and their parents, guardians, mentors and teachers in Dallas to teach, equip, encourage and support them in developing their reading and language skills to become life-long readers, learners a

nd leaders. Our strategy is to jump-start parents, guardians, children and their siblings reading to and with each other and reading to themselves at any early age. The goal is to make reading an instinctive and habitual part of the lives of these children at an early age so that they will be ready for school, will enjoy school, will succeed in school and will use the learning and confidence obtained from their reading and language skills to become leaders in their homes, their churches, their neighborhoods and their communities. By helping to increase the number and quality of words that children in Dallas know when they begin school and help them continue to develop those language and reading skills in their elementary, middle and high school years, R2L hopes to significantly increase the likelihood of school success for these children.

We've got a new virtual summer storytime class! Join us for a fun and engaging summer book club where stories help us learn important social-emotional skills! Each week will have a different book exploring themes such as culture and identity, determination, and responsibility. Keep your kids reading and engaged over the summer with this kids' book club. Our summer camp staff has boarded and is ready for takeoff! Help us welcome our five Summer AmeriCorps members: Brandy, Ximena, Yulianna, Veronica, and Jacqueline. All five members are returning after serving with us either last summer or this past school year. We're so grateful that they have chosen Readers 2 Leaders as their site of service again! We can't wait for another amazing summer with these ladies.

Through our community Reading Enrichment Training sessions, we are multiplying the power of reading across North Texas. Packed with ready-to-use lessons, materials, and meaningful instruction, our training sessions provided program staff with the tools to deliver high-impact literary experiences for their students. We are proud to have offered reading enrichment trainings to over 100 individuals from Casa del Lago, St. Philip's School & Community Center, Wesley-Rankin Community Center, and Dallas Afterschool this summer!

From summer camper to summer volunteer - meet Sandy! As a Readers 2 Leaders student, Sandy loved the summer camp experience. 10 years later, she returned to be a Summer Reading Buddy volunteer herself, sharing the love of reading that had grown during her time in R2L programs.

With quality reading instruction and summer fun, our camp can make a huge impact. Your gift in support of summer camp can impact campers for a lifetime, just like it did for Sandy.

De campista de verano a voluntaria de verano: ¡conozcan a Sandy! Como estudiante de Readers 2 Leaders, Sandy disfrutó muchísimo de la experiencia del campamento de verano. Diez años más tarde, regresó para ser ella misma voluntaria del programa *Summer Reading Buddy*, compartiendo el amor por la lectura que había cultivado durante su paso por los programas de R2L.

Don't miss "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," an interactive session about resilience, adaptation, lessons learned, and real examples of what it looks like to move through uncertainty together.

We're grateful and honored to share the stage with Carla Taylor from Community Wealth Partners and Alia Mahmoud from Radical Partners. Our lovely leader trio will share insights from Resilient, Inclusive, & Sustainable Economies (RISE), and reflect on practical ways funders can support nonprofits navigating change.

We welcomed back KPMG for the fourth year for their Community Impact Day! Thank you to the KPMG employees and our board member, Matt Chance, for assisting us in assembling important materials for our summer programs and trainings.
