Equipping students for success through the power of reading - join us as we change lives through literacy!

Readers 2 Leaders' mission is to develop and grow the reading skills of underserved Dallas children ages 3-12 so that they succeed in school and graduate prepared to live productive lives. R2L works children and their parents, guardians, mentors and teachers in Dallas to teach, equip, encourage and support them in developing their reading and language skills to become life-long readers, learners and leaders. Our strategy is to jump-start parents, guardians, children and their siblings reading to and with each other and reading to themselves at any early age. The goal is to make reading an instinctive and habitual part of the lives of these children at an early age so that they will be ready for school, will enjoy school, will succeed in school and will use the learning and confidence obtained from their reading and language skills to become leaders in their homes, their churches, their neighborhoods and their communities. By helping to increase the number and quality of words that children in Dallas know when they begin school and help them continue to develop those language and reading skills in their elementary, middle and high school years, R2L hopes to significantly increase the likelihood of school success for these children.

Sarah, VP of Programs, will be representing Readers 2 Leaders at National Center for Families Learning's Families Learning Conference in November. We are proud to share our Family Reading Cohort as a proven model that equips caregivers, especially in multilingual families, with foundational decoding skills. We're grateful to be a part of a curated collection of engaging professional development sessions, and we look forward to an energizing conference!

Nos enorgullece presentar nuestra iniciativa «Family Reading Cohort» (Cohorte de Lectura Familiar) como un modelo probado que dota a los cuidadores —especialmente a los de familias multilingües— de habilidades fundamentales de decodificación. It's an honor to welcome Pi Beta Phi volunteers every year! We had a lovely group of SMU Pi Beta Phi members who read to our After-School students with enthusiasm and joy. We're so grateful for their continued commitment and support for our mission and students.

Shoutout to board member Ray Gill and the Santander AAPI Business Resource Group for donating over 90 books for our Family Reading Cohort participants! These bilingual titles will be given to each participant as a graduation gift to help them build their at-home libraries. We're grateful to Ray for coordinating this meaningful book drive and the generosity of the AAPI Group members!

Happy World Teacher's Day to our new Literacy Fellows! We're so excited to welcome Alejandra and Emily to our After-School team. They are mastering the curriculum and doing an amazing job teaching their small groups!

Our Literacy Fellows program has 2 main purposes:
📖 to provide high-impact reading tutoring support to students to help them become proficient, independent readers
✏️to prepare Dallas' future educators for success by providing them hands-on tutoring experience alongside training, observations, and instructional coaching.

We're grateful for our Literacy Fellows and all teachers around the world who are doing the incredible work of raising up future leaders.

¡Feliz Día Mundial de los Docentes a nuestros nuevos *Literacy Fellows* (becarios de alfabetización)! Nos entusiasma mucho dar la bienvenida a Alejandra y Emily a nuestro equipo de actividades extraescolares. ¡Ya dominan el plan de estudios y están haciendo un trabajo magnífico enseñando a sus grupos reducidos!

Nuestro programa de *Literacy Fellows* tiene dos objetivos principales:
📖 ofrecer apoyo de tutoría de lectura de alto impacto a los estudiantes para ayudarles a convertirse en lectores competentes e independientes;
✏️ preparar a los futuros educadores de Dallas para el éxito, brindándoles experiencia práctica en tutoría junto con capacitación, observaciones y asesoramiento pedagógico.

We were happy to partner with Wesley-Rankin Community Center to offer our "Alphabet Adventures in Spanish" training to parents in Pleasant Grove this week! At each training, we hope participants leave with easy strategies and the confidence to support their young children's reading development. Thank you, Veronica, for a great session!
