Lone Star Young Marines

Congratulations to YM/SSgt Farris on the promotion to Staff Sergeant this weekend! We’re proud to see the growth, dedication, and leadership behind this well-earned achievement.

A few moments from our FTX at Hickory Creek Park! The weekend included land navigation, first aid and CPR, and team building. For land nav, each team followed five coordinates, completing a challenge or finding an item at each point before receiving the next coordinate. They carried their gear through the course, worked through a stretch out of a blouse, practiced first aid in the field, and transported an ammo can and water jug. Even with the rain, the fire ban meant no campfire, but the teams still made the most of the weekend and worked together through every challenge.

Congratulations to YM/Cpl. Nguyen D. on the promotion to Corporal this weekend! A well-earned milestone and a great recognition of the hard work and leadership shown in the unit.

Congratulations to YM/Cpl Nguyen D.!

We are proud to recognize YM/Cpl Nguyen D. as a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal.

Since joining Lone Star Young Marines in January 2025 at just 9 years old, Nguyen has consistently stood out through his motivation, attention to detail, leadership, and desire to improve. He is often one of the first to volunteer, actively seeks feedback, and takes every opportunity to grow.

Most recently, he volunteered to speak about the Young Marines program before the Dallas County Commissioners Court, representing our unit with confidence and composure.

We are incredibly proud of his continued growth and this well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations, Corporal Nguyen!

A huge congratulations to YM/Sgt Farris and Recruit Warren for earning a perfect 500 on the PFT at our latest drill!

A perfect score takes consistency, effort, and a lot of hard work. We’re proud to recognize both of them for reaching the top score.
