📸 1st Texas Regiment Young Marines Drill & Ceremonies School 2026

We’re finally getting a chance to share some of our favorite moments from an incredible weekend at D&C School!

Lone Star Young Marines was proud to host Young Marines and Adult Volunteers from across the state for a weekend filled with drill, leadership, teamwork, and plenty of hard work.

A special thank you to SgtMaj Angela Maness, USMC (Ret.) and Audrea Killalea from Space City Young Marines - Houston, TX for sharing their time, knowledge, and experience with our Young Marines and Adult Volunteers throughout the weekend. We truly appreciate everything they poured into making this school such a great experience for everyone involved.

Thank you to Tarrant County Young Marines, San Antonio Young Marines, Denton County Young Marines for joining us, and to all of the Adult Volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the weekend possible.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of our D&C School graduates! You worked hard, learned a lot, and represented your units well. 🇺🇸

🏊‍♂️ SWIM QUALIFICATIONS 2026 🌊

Today, our Lone Star Young Marines and recruits traded their boots for the pool and completed swim qualifications!

This was our unit’s first swim qualification in two years, which meant it was a first-time experience for many of our Young Marines and recruits. They were challenged on their swimming ability, water confidence, and ability to remain calm and safe in the water.

We’re proud of everyone who got in the pool, gave it their best effort, and pushed themselves today. 💪

A huge THANK YOU to our Adult Volunteers and parents who helped make today possible—from assisting poolside to providing food, drinks, and everything else we needed. Events like this truly take a team!

Great job, Lone Star! ❤️🤍💙

Today, we honor extraordinary courage.

Today is Purple Heart Day, a moment to recognize the service members who were wounded in combat and the families who carry their stories with them every day. Your sacrifice, strength, and resilience are felt deeply across our community, and I want you to know how much we honor you.

The Purple Heart represents courage, sacrifice, and selfless service. We encourage our Young Marines to take a moment today to remember and honor those who have sacrificed so much in defense of our nation.

To all Purple Heart recipients and their families — thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 What an incredible day for the Lone Star Young Marines!

Today, our unit was honored by Commissioner Andrew Sommerman at the Dallas County Commissioners CRT with a Resolution recognizing our commitment to Drug Demand Reduction and Red Ribbon Week.

We are incredibly proud of the Young Marines who represented our unit today and of everyone who helps make our mission possible. Thank you to the Dallas County Commissioners Court for supporting youth leadership and substance abuse prevention.

Together, we’re building stronger leaders and healthier communities. Semper Fidelis, Young Marines! ❤️💛
