Texas Troop 1077

Texas Troop 1077 Troop 1077 Troop 1077 is a Scout-led Troop in Far North Dallas, which meets regularly at PTAA School. Our featured Camp Out is our Memorial Day Adventure.

Offering a well-balance of ranks from Trail-to-First Class to Life-to-Eagle, Troop 1077 is comprised of Scouts in both private and public area schools and of diverse faiths. Troop 1077 is proud to have assisted over a hundred Scouts achieve the Eagle rank over the last twenty years. We camp monthly, and participate in the BSA High Adventure Treks of Philmont, Seabase, and Northern Tier.

The boys are back from 12 days on trail in philmont. Mt Baldy, Tooth of Time, 75 miles logged and a 14000 ft elevation gain. So impressed. We came bak with hundreds of spectacular photos, it might take a few posts to capture some of the best reflections of the beautiful setting.

Five years ago Scoutmaster Bates took the reins from Scoutmaster Neiderer, knowing he would have big shoes to fill. Over these years, Deke took the troop new places, and forged new traditions. Our scouting experience has been elevated, and tonight we inducted a new Scoutmaster.
Thank you, Deke Bates and welcome Scoutmaster Dominico.

Friends of Scouting dinner is always a powerful evening. This year we heard from Council President, Nancy Ann Hunt and 70th Secretary of State, Micheal Pompeo. We raised over $3.1 million tonight. Scouting is so important in a time where many kids need connection to outdoors and wholesome leadership opportunities- As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.

A favorite quote of the night was “there is no comfort in your growth zone and no growth in your comfort zone”. A good reminder to all of us to find ways to stretch.
