Calling all Active Irish to come run or walk a 5k to spread awareness of an ultra-rare cancer: Myxofibrosarcoma.
The month of July is Sarcoma Awareness Month. A family member of one of our own Club of Dallas members was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma this January. To raise awareness of ultra-rare cancers, the Active Irish are hosting a team race to the cure in Dallas!
Depending on RSVPs, we will find a park in North Dallas to run or walk a 5k (or a 1- mile fun run if you prefer) together. We will update this event and email participants with the location closer to the date. You don't have to sign up with the official race to come be a part of our gathering; however, if you would like to, you can sign up and join the Fighting Irish Fight Sarcoma team at: https://runsignup.com/fightingirishfightsarcoma
What: a 5k for a Cause!
When: July 18, 2026 , 8:30 am to 11:30 am
Where: A north Dallas park - to be determined!
How: RSVP to Taylor Wilson at [email protected] or sign up on the Race to Cure Sarcoma website and join the race team Fighting Irish Fight Sarcoma
Why: Raise awareness about ultra-rare cancers in desperate need of research!
We'll start out with some group stretching before we get active and get going! Wear Notre Dame gear or yellow to symbolize sarcoma. We will provide bottled water for participants, but advise everyone to wear a hat and sun protection because July in Dallas is HOT!
