May is Mental Health Awareness Month! This national month of awareness and action has been recognized since 1949, as mental health activists and practitioners across the country work to spread the word that mental health is something everyone should care about.
Culver City President Kenya Dennis attended the 2026 Act ActNOW LA Comprehensive Health Conference with NAUW Southwest Santa Monica Branch members for an afternoon of health education and empowerment. The Green Foundation presented two dynamic speakers: Dr. Nathalie Beasnael from preventative Global Health & Health 4 Peace and Dr. Monica Wilson Mental Health Advocate, Educator, Parents Against Va**ng. The conference was full of information and resources for the community to get assistance for women's health, trauma & anxiety, substance abuse, mental health and so much more.

Happy Birthday to our Culver City sister Mildred Slaughter.

As we end the month of April, shout out to our Culver City members who volunteered with Postive Results Center to gift young men and ladies all things prom. It was a day for the young men and ladies to pick out all the things needed to look like Kings & Queens on their prom day. Culver City members were their personal shoppers for the day and dressed them from head to toe.
Congratulations to Inglewood Branch for an awesome scholarship luncheon. A special shoutout to their President Evelyn Gentry Howie on being inducted into the NAUW South Central LA Hall of Fame.
