Join us next week as Dr. Wilson shares recent advances in developing pathogen-targeted PET tracers from [18F]FDG using innovative chemical and chemoenzymatic approaches. The webinar will explore strategies for imaging bacteria, mycobacteria, and fungi, while addressing a key translational challenge: how to make these tracers available on demand for patients.

From novel radiosynthetic methods to the potential for detecting living pathogens in patients, this promises to be a fascinating discussion at the intersection of radiochemistry, infection imaging, and clinical translation.

We’re excited to officially launch the first-ever Core Lab Hub at — a new collaborative space designed specifically for core facilities to connect, showcase capabilities, and engage directly with attendees and industry partners.

Located within the WMIC 2026 exhibit hall, the Core Lab Hub creates a central destination for collaboration, visibility, and scientific engagement across the molecular imaging community.

This is the inaugural year of the program, and space is intentionally limited.

If your core lab is looking to:
- Increase visibility at the conference
- Build new collaborations
- Engage directly with attendees and industry partners
- Highlight services, technologies, and expertise
- Be part of a new community-focused experience from the ground floor
…this is your opportunity to secure a spot before spaces fill.

✔️ Two full conference registrations included
✔️ Dedicated tabletop exhibit space
✔️ Listing in the Core Lab Hub Directory
✔️ Access to scientific sessions, exhibit hall programming, and networking opportunities

Reserve your table here: https://www.xcdsystem.com/wmis/exhibitor/index.cfm?ID=UPd6AIe

We look forward to welcoming you to WMIC 2026 in Salt Lake City.

Bacterial infection imaging remains a major challenge in molecular imaging, especially when rapid, on-demand tracer production is needed for acutely ill patients.

Join us for the upcoming WMIS webinar:
Towards the On-Demand Radiosyntheses of Pathogen-Targeted PET Tracers from the Widely Available Synthon [18F]FDG
📅 Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET

Dr. Wilson will discuss emerging chemical and chemoenzymatic strategies for developing pathogen-targeted PET tracers from the widely available synthon [18F]FDG. The webinar will highlight advances in imaging bacteria, mycobacteria, and fungi, along with the translational potential of these approaches in human studies.

The transition from academia to industry can feel uncertain—but your postdoc has already prepared you more than you think.

As part of the WMIS Postdoctoral Mentoring Program, we hosted our second 2026 workshop: “Declaring Independence Part II: Career Paths in Industry”, featuring leaders from industry and translational science who shared honest insights on navigating careers beyond academia.

From networking and mentorship to communication and industry readiness, here are some of the key takeaways from our panel:
🔹 Your scientific training already has industry value—learn how to translate your skills
🔹 Be intentional with applications—tailor your CV for each role
🔹 Many opportunities come through relationships and referrals, not cold applications
🔹 Academia and industry are deeply interconnected and evolve together
🔹 Communication shapes influence—people need to understand the value of your work
🔹 Mentorship can open doors, but direction and action must come from you

A huge thank you to our panelists—Catherine Hines, Su-Tang Lo, and Zdravka Medarova—for sharing their experiences and perspectives so openly! Special thanks as well to Derick Rosario for leading such a thoughtful discussion.

💡 The WMIS mentoring program is designed to support postdocs in molecular imaging through mentorship, career guidance, community, and real-world advice across both academia and industry.
