MOONBOTS MOONBOTS: A Google Lunar XPRIZE Challenge! A free, global contest that challenges teams of kids to build mini Moon robots---winning prizes & trips!

A group of 2 to 4 members, ages 8 to 17 plus one adult captain (over 18), can form a team to participate in this challenge. Teams are to learn about lunar exploration and design a robot to complete the challenge missions. Phase 1 of the competition starts 1 February 2017. 12 finalist teams advance to Phase 2 to compete for the Grand Prize trip.

In April 2019, SpaceIL's Beresheet moon lander became the first-ever private spacecraft to orbit the Moon, and the first to attempt a landing on the surface! In honor of their accomplishments, XPRIZE awarded them our first-ever $1M Moonshot Award.
