On behalf of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Alumni Association USA (PUPAA USA) Board of Directors and Officers, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Oscar L. Jornacion on April 25, 2026.

Dr. Jornacion was a valued and respected member of our community, known for his humility, kindness, and genuine spirit of service. Throughout his life, he touched many hearts through his generosity, compassion, and sincere concern for others. His presence among us was truly appreciated, and he will be deeply missed.

Dr. Jornacion was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines during the commencement exercises in December 2014. He was a founder of the PUPAA USA. He initiated the formation of a PUP alumni association in Los Angeles at the request of PUP President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman and PUP Vice President Dr. Joseph Mercado. In January 2015, he began reaching out to his friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and fellow members of the Filipino-American community whom he knew to be alumni of PUP, then known as the Philippine College of Commerce. Because of his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment, the Association was established and has grown into a vibrant and united community that fosters camaraderie, service, and a shared commitment to our alma mater. His vision and guidance laid a strong foundation that continues to inspire and strengthen the organization today.

During this time of loss, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who knew him. May you find comfort, strength, and peace in the memories you shared and in the legacy he leaves behind.
