USA Dance Los Angeles County Chapter #4031 is a fun and growing group of social and competitive ballroom dancers from the Los Angeles area. We're a sub-chapter of the national non-profit organization, USA Dance, which serves as the national governing body for DanceSport, the competitive form of ballroom dancing in the United States. Our primary activity is organizing large ballroom dances that typ

ically attract a few hundred people. At all of our dances, a complimentary dance lesson from a professional instructor is included in your admission fee. These dances are open to the public although members of USA Dance receive discounted admission. We dance to a wide variety of music -- Waltz, Fox Trot, Rumba, Cha Cha, Tango, East and West Coast Swing, Samba, Salsa, Hustle, Night Club Two Step, etc. Typically, we throw in a couple of dance mixers, a special performance, and we always provide snacks and drinks. We also provide dance hosts at all of our dances to make sure the ladies are never sitting idle. In addition to organizing dances, we sponsor various community programs, such as our K-12 Program that teaches ballroom dance to students, and our Senior Outreach Program that brings ballroom dance performances to senior assisted living centers. For the past several years, we have organized an annual Ballroom Showcase. Many of our members are also competitive dancers, who compete locally and across the nation in DanceSport events. Hence, an additional part of our mission is to support those DanceSport athletes and to encourage more dancers to consider competing. In a nutshell, our goal is promote ballroom dance and encourage others to dance with us! Membership dues go to support our national organization's mission to foster the inclusion of DanceSport into the Olympic Games. In addition to supporting this worthy cause, members receive discounted admission to our dances and others in the Los Angeles area, a free annual subscription to American Dancer Magazine, and the opportunity to be involved in our local chapter's various community outreach programs. I had an incredible time last weekend at the USA Dance National Championships in Pittsburgh, PA! This annual event brings together DanceSport competitors from across the country, and it’s always such an inspiring experience.

As Membership Director and President of the Los Angeles chapter, I had the privilege of attending, leading workshops, capturing some amazing moments, and fully soaking in the beauty of ballroom dance.

This round features our Adult Athletes performing the Waltz and Tango—such elegance, passion, and artistry on the floor. I hope you enjoy these highlights as much as I did!

It is with broken hearts and an overwhelming feeling of sadness that we announce the passing of DJ Pi-Ian Chen on March 21, 2026. She was a great DJ and a wonderful person and she will be deeply missed.
