🌳 Tree suckers can be pesky, but they can be managed!
Tree suckers are fast-growing shoots that emerge from the base of a tree or along its roots. While they may seem harmless, they compete with the main tree for water and nutrients, which can reduce the tree's overall health and vigor.
The good news is that suckers can often be minimized with proper pruning, consistent tree care, and thoughtful planning. Regularly removing suckers, avoiding unnecessary damage to the trunk and roots, watering appropriately during dry periods, and selecting the right tree for the right location can all help reduce sucker growth over time.
