Today, we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

Juneteenth marks the day when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a time to reflect on our nation's history, recognize the contributions of Black communities, and recommit ourselves to building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

At United Way, we believe strong communities are built on inclusion, opportunity, and belonging for all. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we also reaffirm our commitment to advancing equity and creating pathways for every individual and family to succeed.
