Anna, the child of immigrants, didn’t win the 1st cycle she applied but I was so impressed by her application I had our board chair reach out & tell her to reapply the subsequent year. AND SHE WON!

An American woman was confronted by sheriff deputies at a checkpoint in Lafayette, Louisiana, who told her her ID and Social Security card were fake. They turned her over to ICE, who shackled her & took her an hour away. Even after a lawyer convinced ICE of the woman's citizenship the sheriff wont admit wrongdoing.

Lafayette is the same town who allowed their mayor to govern from REHAB for drug and alcohol addiction back in 2022 and who just pled guilty THIS MONTH for malfeasance in office after being finally arrested despite every exception being levied towards him.

But an innocent woman?

Out of the HUNDREDS of women who have passed through Louisiana Parole Project’s re-entry program, NOT A SINGLE ONE is back behind bars.

I am so happy for everyone who pushed this bill forward. It is passing UNOPPOSED out of the Louisiana house!

This is why I journal. The data surrounding criminal justice in America, the news articles, the PROOF of what has happened is being deleted in real time. The SAME is happening with data and research from the CDC as well as legal articles and statutes. They are erasing the proof.

Louisiana has decided to cede the entire parole decision-making process to an algorithm that will decide if you die in prison or not. There will be no human input or nuance allowed. Even our parole board is sickened by this.

I’m meeting with a lovely consultant today about the next steps for my nonprofit. I want to throw more community events as we have only had 2. We want to fellowship more with our community and donors. And do so in a spectacular way.
